Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga (1-0), a former UFC heavyweight title challenger made a successful professional boxing debut as he defeated Alejandro Esquilin Santiago (0-1) over four competitive, back-and-forth rounds with two scorecards (58-56) and one scorecard (38-38), for a majority decision victory. Both fighters had their moments in this entertaining heavyweight bout, especially in the third-round; however, Gonzaga landed the more powerful punches and was the aggressor throughout the fight.

One of Boxing’s Youngest Promoters: AJ Rivera of Rivera Promotions Entertainment
One of boxing’s newest promotional companies Rivera Promotions Entertainment is co-owned and managed by AJ Rivera, who at twenty-four-years-old is one of boxing’s youngest promoters and his father, Jose Antonio Rivera (41-6-1, 24 KOs), a former three-time, two-division world champion. They formed their company in January of this year from their hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Rivera Promotions Entertainment has gotten off to a strong first-year. They held three boxing events (January 19th, April 1st, and June 10th) in two different venues (Worcester Palladium and DCU Center), and one of their bouts was for a regional title, when in their last outing, Irvin Gonzalez defeated Raul Lopez for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation East Regional Title.
Toka Kahn-Clary takes on Braulio Rodriguez on October 19th
Featherweight prospect Toka “T Nice” Kahn-Clary (22-1-0-1, 15 KOs) will look to continue to move up the divisional rankings when he fights dangerous, powerful puncher Braulio “El Chavo” Rodriguez (19-2, 17 KOs) on October 19th at the Freight Depot in Atlanta, Georgia in a scheduled ten-round bout for the vacant WBC Continental Americas title. This will be Kahn-Clary’s first main event bout and the first time that he is fighting for a title in his five-year professional career.

GGG got Robbed; Settles for Draw with Canelo
Undefeated IBO/WBA/WBC/IBF middleweight titleholder Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) got robbed in another horrible decision, which unfortunately has become a common problem in boxing, as he settled for a twelve-round split-decision draw against lineal and Ring middleweight titleholder Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs). Adalaide Byrd rendered a horrific 118-110 scorecard for Canelo, Dave Moretti scored it 115-113 for GGG, while Don Trella had it 114-114, despite the fact that Golovkin aggressively backed up Canelo for the entire bout, was the much more active fighter, and out landed him by forty-nine punches.

Mayweather Scores a Tenth-Round TKO over McGregor
The former pound-for-pound best fighter in the world Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr. defeated two-division UFC champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor via a tenth-round technical knockout, as he unleashed a powerful barrage of hard punches that badly staggered McGregor and had him close to being knocked out, which forced referee Robert Byrd to stop this junior middleweight fight at one minute, five seconds. All three judges: Dave Moretti (87-83), Burt Clements (89-82), and Guido Cavalleri (89-81) scored the bout in favor of Mayweather, at the time of the stoppage.
