Speaking at this week’s media scrum via fighthub Broner appeared to be talking the talk, seemingly suggesting that Porter sees the fight – and “The Problem” – as his big shot.

Evidently going too far for some – and looking like an immature teenager out to impress an older child as his mentor Floyd Mayweather looked on – Broner took pot shots at both Porter and his father and trainer, Kenny – essentially accusing the Snr Porter of misappropriating his son’s money to directly benefit himself.

Mayweather Looking Forward To September

This week saw his first sit down with the media since the Manny Pacquiao fight and Floyd Mayweather Jr has insisted that he is looking forward to his penciled in September 12th date – the final fight of his contract with broadcaster Showtime and 49th pro outing in all – however the future Hall of Famer confirmed via fighthubtv that finding and announcing an opponent is sure to take some time.

Not the news Britain’s Amir Khan wanted to hear, I’m sure!

Mayweather, who it’s widely expected will indeed box on to reach that record-breaking 50-0, mastered the art of self-promotion a long time ago.

One Brit who Ward was interested in facing once more, is Carl “Will he, Won’t he retire?” Froch – whom the American comprehensively outclassed back in 2011.

Mayweather : ‘Broner Can Be A PPV Star But Everything Takes Time’

Be it disrespecting his opponents in the ring, or exuding detestable arrogance outside of it, the thing that has irked me the most with the Ohioan motor-mouth throughout his precocious career is his seeming insistence on lifting large parts of Floyd Mayweather’s in-ring game and failing to adapt them properly to his own. The shoulder roll, would be the most prominent example.

It’s frustrating to watch, as Broner certainly exudes a natural talent of his own – a 3 weight world champ at just 25 years old.

One of the worst kept secrets in boxing over recent weeks has been that Britain’s IBF 147 lb champion Kell Brook is set to defend his belt against American brawler Brandon Rios sometime later this summer – most probably on the 29th August in Brook’s home city of Sheffield or on September 12th at London’s O2 Arena.
