Vivek W. (ESB): Not to be taken personally, as this comment isn’t directed towards you personally, but I’ve grown tired of the endless search by media and fans looking for “the next”. Time and time again, we continue to see young fighters put in situations far earlier than they’re actually ready. We saw it with Broner, I think we’ve seen it with “Swift” Garcia (although he hasn’t taken an “L” yet), and a countless amount of others. As it relates to Keith Thurman, I really think he has pretty good talent, and he has shown a certain amount of evolution; but anyone ready to say – at this early stage – that he is the heir apparent to Floyd Mayweather is not looking at things the way they should.

Amir Khan: Still Desperately Seeking Floyd

There is still hope for Amir Khan landing the fight he’s been chasing for the better part of 2 1/2 years against Floyd Mayweather – at least in his own mind.

In the wake of the news that Florida’s Andre Berto looks to be the man gloving up to face Mayweather in September, Khan has spoken out yet again to insist it’s not over until the fat lady sings, and until Berto is “officially” announced as Floyd’s opponent, he refuses to give up hope of getting that career-high payday.

Once again insisting the boxing world wants him to face Floyd, Khan said to Sky Sports in his classic, self indulgent, 3rd person style;

Thurman wants Amir Khan, willing to fight him in UK

After being compared in an unfavorable way to Amir Khan in how he did in beating Luis Collazo last year, WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 Kos) says he’s ready to fight Khan next if he’s interested in fighting, and he’ll travel to the UK to fight Khan at Wembley Stadium in London if he’s willing to take the fight.

Thurman, 26, has taking a lot of heat from boxing fans due to the way he looked against Collazo last Saturday night in beating him by a harder than expected 8th round TKO at the USF Sundome Arena in Tampa, Florida. To be sure, Thurman got the victory, but he also was hurt by Collazo in the 5th, and he ran from the 34-year-old fighter through most of.

Amir Khan Says Floyd Mayweather Is Messing Up His Own Legacy

The circus that surrounds Floyd Mayweather’s potential opponent for his ‘final’ fight in September has been arguably led by one ‘ringmaster’ – a man who calls himself ‘King’, yet acts more like a Jester in terms of his very public chasing of the lucrative opportunity many – fighters and fans alike – consider him undeserving of.

I am of course talking about Britain’s Amir Khan, who in his ever desperate and public quest to get Floyd between the ropes, has told Ringcast.net that the future Hall of Fame Inductee is “messing his own legacy up” by ostensibly refusing to fight him on September 12th and opting for a ‘softer’ option.

After his labored victory over light-hitting Chris Algieri recently, and with welterweight rivals Kell Brook and Keith Thurman questioning his suitability for the Floyd Mayweather Sep 12th slot – Amir Khan may finally have realized his credibility has taken a damaging hit and that he is NOT going to be the man in the opposite corner for Floyd’s 49th pro outing.

But fear not.

Speaking in ‘The National’ ,Khan has realised the next biggest money fight for him may be against former Wild Card stablemate Manny Pacquiao – and while seemingly attempting to dismiss speculation from Bob Arum that the fight could take place in Dubai – and continuing to assert it is Mayweather he wants – he seemingly concedes he will take 2nd prize and fight the Filipino star if needs be.

Thurman: Doesn’t See Khan Beating Floyd / Will Fight Amir Himself

Mention the words ‘welterweight’ and ‘Floyd Mayweather’ in the same sentence these days and it’s likely that Britain’s Amir Khan won’t be too far away from the conversation.

Irrespective of Floyd’s (sardonic) assertions that he will fight Andre Berto or Karim Mayfield – which you’d be a fool to believe – Khan still thinks that he is in the running for that fight in September and along with the likes of Kell Brook, Shawn Porter and Keith Thurman – is capable of landing the shot.

With the ironically named “Fight Of The Century” now seemingly a distant memory, and Floyd Mayweather having just conducted his first media sit-down since then, attention has inevitably turned to just who wins the sweepstakes for his “final” fight in September – and obviously, when that subject is broached, one man is never far from proffering himself as the proverbial “lamb to the slaughter” – and that’s Britain’s Amir Khan.

Kell Brook Clears Up The Khan Situation

Many many column inches are being devoted to the potential Brook v Khan fight, that so far continues to elude us thanks to Amir Khan’s stubborn insistence that Brook is somehow ‘undeserving’ of sharing a ring with him.

It’s a fight the British public in particular are desperate to see – and thankfully, down to this day and age of media saturation via the internet – every verbal barb and excuse is visible and it’s growing increasingly obvious who is stopping this fight from happening – even to the man in the street and the “casual” fan, if you will.

And it’s not the IBF 147lb champion, who has once again gone on the record to state his position unequivocally regarding Khan, telling Sky Sports;

Amir Khan – King of What?

I have long been a vocal supporter of Amir Khan, but he seems to be doing his utmost to alienate anybody who still has the belief in him to back him against his many detractors. He has now had a minimum of 2 opportunities to sign up to a World title fight and he has rejected them both. His last fight was against an opponent who was, with all due respect, completely irrelevant. His excuses are changing every time; I want Mayweather, I want Pacquiaio, I want World title fights, and now apparently Kell Brook is not worthy of a fight with King Khan. It is becoming harder and harder to argue that Khan is one of the top fighters in the Welterweight division and, perhaps more importantly, I no longer want to try.

Khan Says Brook Needs Him & Having An ‘Easy Run’

It hasn’t taken long for Amir Khan to find his way home following Friday night’s laboured victory over Chris Algieri – and after initially appearing to concede his performance may have dented his chances of a Floyd Mayweather fight – a series of interviews with various UK media outlets appear to show the Bolton man has changed his mind.

Last night on regional news in the North-West and now in an interview with TalkSport radio, the former Athens Olympian addressed both the issues of Floyd Mayweather and more pertinently, domestic rival Kell Brook – a man he is ostensibly avoiding, all the while insisting the IBF 147lb champion is yet to prove himself.
