Brook: Queen Khan is getting it

Brook: Queen Khan is getting it

Kell Brook (33-0, 22 KOs) came across like a fighter with a bit of a chip on his shoulder when talking about Amir Khan following his 12 round majority decision win over IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-1-1, 15 KOs) last night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Brook has wanted a shot at fighting Khan for a long time now, but Khan has always declined s fight with him because of the horrible opposition that he’d been matched up against for most of his career. But after winning the title last night, Brook was practically snarling when talking about Khan after the fight.

Amir Khan Believes His Victory Against Collazo Might Have Scared Pacquiao Away

While the idea of an Amir Khan vs. Manny Pacquiao fight was never a realistic one, the match-up has been extensively discussed by the boxing fans in the recent past.

After defeating Brandon Rios, Pacquiao’s next opponent was nowhere to be seen. Nobody had even the slightest clue as to whom team Pacquiao was going to face next. After a short while, the online boxing community took it upon themselves to discuss the possibilities, which included Ruslan Provodnikov, Juan Manuel Marquez, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Amir Khan.

Roger Mayweather wants Floyd Jr vs. Khan in 2015

Roger Mayweather wants Floyd Jr vs. Khan in 2015

Floyd Mayweather Jr’s trainer/uncle Roger Mayweather is hoping that he’ll fight former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (29-3, 19 KOs) next year sometime. Roger says he sees it as a good fight between them.

“I hope so,” Roger M said when asked by Hustleboss.com if a fight between Mayweather and Khan will be taking place next year. “It’s a good fight.”

Mayweather hasn’t said whether he’ll be facing Khan in the future. Mayweather appeared to be kicking around the idea of a fight against Khan before his last fight in May. He asked fans to pick between Khan and Marcos Maidana on his Mayweather Promotions website.

Khan: If Brook beats Porter, it could lead to big fight between us

Khan: If Brook beats Porter, it could lead to big fight between us

(Photo credit: Esther Lin/Showtime) Amir Khan sees a victory by Britain’s Kell Brook (32-0, 22 KOs) tonight against IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15 KOs) as opening the door for a big fight between the two of them in the UK in the near future.

Khan isn’t saying precisely when he wants to face Brook, but you’ve got to figure that it would need to happen fairly soon. Brook doesn’t have the kind of talent to hold down the WBA title for long if he were to face the likes of Keith Thurman, Floyd Mayweather Jr or Manny Pacquiao. You’d have to favor all three of those fighters to beat Brook if a fight were made.

Khan says he tried to get Pacquiao fight but they chose Algieri instead

Khan says he tried to get Pacquiao fight but they chose Algieri instead

Former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan says he made an offer to WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao’s team to face him in November. Khan says his team never heard back from Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum.

Khan was later stunned to learn that Pacquiao would be fighting little known light welterweight Chris Algieri next on November 22nd in Macao, China. Khan doesn’t understand the choice of opponent, because Algieri isn’t a big name and he felt that he would have been a much better choice than Algieri.

Khan says Alexander and Guerrero are in play for December

Amir Khan would like to be facing Floyd Mayweather Jr or Manny Pacquiao in his next fight in December, but neither of those fighters will be available to him at that time, so he wants to take the best fight possible against either Robert Guerrero or Devon Alexander.

Khan wants to pick up a big win over an opponent with a name so that it can catapult him into a fight against Mayweather next year. Khan believes that a big win will get him the fight that he’s been wanting for ages against Mayweather, who he believes he can beat at this point in his career.

Hearn wants Khan for Brook if he gets passed Shawn Porter

Hearn wants Khan for Brook if he gets passed Shawn Porter

Kell Brook (32-0, 22 KO’s) hasn’t yet passed his test against IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15 KO’s), but his promoter Eddie Hearn already has the first fight he wants for Brook’s initial title defense for the IBF belt and that’s against Amir Khan.

Hearn has been after Khan for a long time now in trying to get him to agree to a fight against Brook, and finally he’s on the verge of having the bait to get Khan to agree to a fight. With the IBF title, Brook may get the Khan fight, but winning that belt won’t be easy. Porter has an aggressive fighting style that Brook has never seen before, he’s considerably better than the best opponents – Vyacheslav Senchenko and Carson Jones – which Brook has fought before.

Khan: I could be Mayweather’s next opponent after September

Khan: I could be Mayweather’s next opponent after September

Former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (29-3, 19 KO’s) hasn’t given up on his desire to try and get a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Khan sees himself having a good chance at getting a fight with Mayweather next year in May. Khan took himself out of the running for Mayweather’s September 13th fight due to Ramadan.

Khan plans on fighting in November or December against a still to be determined opponent. It’s going to need to be someone good for him to proclaim that he has earned the fight to fight Mayweather. With 2 losses in his last 5 fights, and no wins over anyone relevant, Khan doesn’t have a good case that he should get a fight against Mayweather. He still needs a live body and not someone pulled out of the graveyard to fight just so that he can get an old scalp with a name attached to it.

Hatton thinks Khan would be unbeaten now if he fought everybody the way he did Collazo

Hatton thinks Khan would be unbeaten now if he fought everybody the way he did Collazo

Ricky Hatton was very impressed with the performance from WBC Silver welterweight champion Amir Khan (29-3, 19 KO’s) with his recent 12 round unanimous decision win over former WBA welterweight champion Luis Collazo (35-6, 18 KO’s) on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Marcos Maidana fight card on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hatton liked Khan’s speed, footwork and defensive ability that he showed in the fight. And Hatton thinks that Khan would have never lost in the past to Breidis Prescott, Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia if he fought the way he did against Collazo.

Khan: Mayweather’s trying to avoid me

khan555Amir Khan (29-3, 19 KO’s) has his mind made up that WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26 KO’s) is freezing him out from getting a big fight against him, and he thinks that he’ll finish the remaining 3 fights on his Showtime contract and retire from the sport without giving him a fight.

Khan has it in his mind that Mayweather sees something in his style that he doesn’t feel comfortable with.

“He’s thinking ‘Do I really need to fight Amir Khan? No, I can fight someone else.’ He’s going to avoid me,” Khan said to the dailymail.co.uk. “I think time might be running out…at least the world knows that I wanted it to happen. If he’s not ready or confident then the fight isn’t going to happen. Even if the world says fight Amir Khan next, if he says ‘no’ then it won’t happen.”
