World Championship boxing returns to Barclays Center when the “The Siberian Rocky” RUSLAN PROVODNIKOV makes the first defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight title and his Brooklyn debut against undefeated world-rated contender and New York product CHRIS ALGIERI. Provodnikov vs. Algieri will take place Saturday, June 14 and will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark®, beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

The co-main event will feature undefeated WBO junior middleweight champion DEMETRIUS “Boo Boo” ANDRADE making his first title defense, against No. 1 contender and mandatory challenger BRIAN “The Lion” ROSE.

These four gladiators boast a combined record of 87-3-1 (44 KOs)– a 96 percent winning percentage, with more than half of their total victories coming by way of knockout.

Chris Algieri Wins Dominant Decision Over Emanuel Taylor

Friday night in front of a standing room only crowd at The Paramount and a nationally televised ESPN Friday Night Fights audience, “The Fighting Pride of Huntington”, Chris Algieri won a dominant ten round unanimous decision over world ranked junior welterweight Emanuel Taylor of Baltimore, Maryland by scores of 98-92, and 97-93 twice.

The ESPN Friday Night Fights/Rockin’ Fights 12 event was the 12th consecutive sellout at The Paramount for Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing.

With the win Algieri improved his undefeated record to 19-0 with eight stoppages while Taylor, ranked #4 by the International Boxing Federation moved to 17-2 with twelve knockouts.

Chris Algieri and Joshua Clottey post big wins in Huntington

889NEW YORK (September 16, 2013) Undefeated junior welterweight Chris Algieri and former world champion Joshua Clottey were both victorious Saturday night at the “RockinFights 10” sold out professional boxing event at The Paramount in Huntington, New York.

“It was a tremendous night for our fans in Huntington who once again displayed their tremendous support of our events with our tenth straight knockout at The Paramount,” said Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing.

“Algieri continues to show why he’s one of the best junior welterweight prospects in boxing and Clottey looked like the former world champion that he is. We expect big opportunities ahead for both fighters in the near future.”
