As an older fighter, older people in-general don’t just let things happen like children or younger adults do. These youngsters don’t have experience to get in their way so they just let things happen and respond accordingly in an unencumbered way.
This is the fight that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) has been waiting for his entire boxing career. If he can be victorious he will be the new mega star in the boxing world and a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) would pay tremendous dividends. On the other hand, if he were to lose, this fight still does a lot for his career.
(Photo credit: Esther Lin/Showtime) Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) has been holding back on his thoughts about his September 14th opponent WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s), but Mayweather has taken the gloves off after the trash talking that started in Los Angeles in their last city of their press tour. Mayweather says he thinks Miguel Cotto is a superior fighter than the 22-year-old Canelo.
Mayweather said to ESPN “I think Miguel Cotto was a stronger fighter, he was a tougher fighter, and I think a better fighter.”
(Photo credit: Esther Lin) Despite the emergence of a Gennady Golovkin, what’s something special about the famous boxing “duo” which we can’t find in other boxers of this generation, so much so that the sport would seem to dim and weaken if they retire?
What is in Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao that keeps the sport “buzzing and oozing” notwithstanding the former’s disdained, manipulated “unbeaten” record and the latter’s recent heart-breaking “defeats”?

A lot of people on forums seem to really tear apart any boxer that gets into the ring no one is ever good enough there is always something or some one they have not faced.
In Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) we are lucky enough to have witnessed a true genius in the ring during our time it’s such a shame though that there not seen for how truly great they are while there still active. Take Muhammad Ali for instance he was ridiculed during his career and disliked it was only once the dust had settled we realized just how truly great an artist we had seen.
I say artist as he made it seem like art the way he moved and picked off his opponents one by one. This is happening all over the Internet currently with Mayweather but I just can’t understand it if you look at the majority of his opponents running up to the fight there built up and built up as soon as Floyd signs to fight them a slow flow of breaking down begins until fight night when there taken apart fully and then after people are straight away saying there weak and should never have been in the ring!
A big fight between Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO’s) and WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16 KO’s) is being talked about as a possible co main event for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. – Saul “Canelo” Alvarez pay per view card on Showtime on September 14th. Steve Kim is reporting that Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is working on putting the Garcia vs. Matthysse fight together for the Mayweather-Canelo card.
Having Garcia and Matthysse on the Mayweather-Canelo fight card would definitely go a long ways towards drawing additional interest in the PPV card; not that it really needed a lot of help. The Mayweather-Canelo fight is so good in itself that really don’t need a whole lot on the undercard to make the card worth the $65 asking price [$75 HD] for fight.

Tempers didn’t exactly flare between Floyd Mayweather, Canelo Alvarez and their camps during the lively festivities that included loud music, a mariachi band and colorful streamers shot into the air, but, for the first time during the enormously successful nine-day, 10-city tour, the respective teams were less than completely complimentary of each other on stage.

One boxer who never ceases to impress with this knowledge of boxing and the ability to out-talk and outwit any other, is Bernard Hopkins. Every knows that a press conference involving Hopkins is worth tuning in to.
But aside from Bernard, there is another boxing superstar who has the natural ability to successfully argue and discuss: Floyd Mayweather Jr. He displays charisma and enthusiasm whenever he is either interviewed or is standing at a podium, and is most certainly a very clever and quick thinker.

Without doing that, Canelo doesn’t have prayer in this fight.
Mayweather is a lot faster than Canelo’s last opponent Austin Trout, and Canelo had problems with Trout’s speed and defense. That fight was very, very close and you ignore the judging for that fight, because those scores didn’t reflect what happened in the ring.
