The Middleweight Theatre of the Absurd

The Middleweight Theatre of the Absurd

The WBC middleweight title has been kidnapped for ransom. Back in 2014 Miguel Cotto, an outstanding welter/super welterweight, caught a huge break when he was chosen to relieve ailing warhorse Sergio Martinez from his middleweight title. He had lost his super welterweight title to Austin Trout and after that fought and TKOed Delvin Rodriguez in a non-title super welterweight bout. Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan: Big George on board for a possible Khan points win

This Saturday’s ludicrously intriguing fight between Saul Canelo Alvarez and Amir Khan is very much a speed Vs. power affair; with the former belonging to Khan, of hands and of feet, the latter belonging to the once-beaten Mexican star. Saul Canelo Alvarez-Amir Khan this Saturday: Khan ready to “shock the world”

Photo: Tom Hogan / GBP – There isn’t long to go now until the most intriguing and potentially exciting fight of the year goes ahead: Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez (a fighter now known merely by his nickname, perhaps more so than any other fighter in recent boxing history) against British star Amir Khan (who really will live up to his “King” nickname if he can cause the upset in Las Vegas).
