Pacquiao to fight Bradley on 4/9 in Las Vegas

For boxing fans not already tired of seeing Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) fight WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs), they’ll get a chance to see the two of them face each other again on April 9th on HBO pay-per-view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their promoter Bob Arum, 84, is saying that Pacquiao has made his decision and will be fighting the 32-year-old Bradley next in what will be a third fight between them.

While some fans are obviously disappointed in this selection due it being an already played out fight, it’s a fight that some fans are interested in seeing because they feel that Bradley has improved since his last fight against Pacquiao in 2014.

Pacquiao not ready to announce next opponent

Pacquiao not ready to announce next opponent

According to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao won’t be naming his next opponent tonight after all. Pacquiao, 36, was supposed to name his next fight on April 9th on the 84-year-old Arum’s truTV fight card tonight in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Arum had two of his Top Rank fighters Tim Bradley and Terence Crawford scheduled to be there, and it was a dead cinch that Pacquiao was going to make his old promoter a very, very happy man by naming one of those guys as his next opponent. But unfortunately for Arum, Pacquiao won’t be naming his next opponent as of yet.

Pacquiao expected to face Tim Bradley next

Former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) will have his next opponent announced this Friday during the truTV card, according to Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum. It’s unknown why Arum is waiting for that card in order to announce the fight, but it would appear that he’s trying to drum up interest in the card, which is headlined by the aging 33-year-old super bantamweight Nonito Donaire fighting Cesar Juarez.

Ruslan Knocks Bradley Out in a Rematch says Joel Diaz

Ruslan Provodnikov’s new trainer, Joel Diaz, believes that if his Siberian charge was to rematch his old fighter Timothy Bradley, then this time he wins by knockout.

Diaz has recently split from WBO 147 champ, Bradley, whom he had guided since day one of his pro career, and was in his corner for the American’s 2013 fight with Provodnikov, in which he won a hugely entertaining and hard fought decision in which both fighters absorbed a lot of punishment.

Bradley and Lomachenko go to the core of the matter

Bradley and Lomachenko go to the core of the matter

Timothy Bradley (33-1-1 13KO) was understandably jubilant with his ninth round TKO of Brandon Rios (33-3-1 24KO)at the Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV. Everything went according to plan, one that his new trainer Teddy Atlas laid out for him. For much of the fight, Bradley was just too fast for Rios. He ripped off multi-punch combinations so fast that Teddy had to caution him a bit between rounds, telling him that it was okay to once in a while just throw a two or three punch combo and then move. When he wasn’t firing off combo’s, he was moving, side to side, in and out or up and down. Rios just couldn’t time him enough to land a good shot.

Jessie Vargas: 'Bradley Gets Ko'd in a Rematch'

Top Rank’s welterweight contender, Jessie Vargas (26-1, 9ko), is still pushing for a rematch with WBO champion and promotional stablemate, Tim Bradley, insisting his former foe isn’t prepared to do so as he knows he’d end up getting knocked out!

Vargas, who is sitting out the rest of the year after a clash with Golden Boy’s red-hot up and comer, Sadam Ali, fell through for December, interrupted ‘Desert Storm’ at the post fight presser after Saturday’s victory over Brandon Rios, prompting Bradley to remark, ‘Here we go again!’

Atlas: I’d Like Mayweather for Bradley

Atlas: I'd Like Mayweather for Bradley

Tim Bradley’s new trainer, Teddy Atlas, is potentially getting far too carried away with his new charge’s dominant performance over Brandon Rios last night, suggesting he would like the newly retired Floyd Mayweather to fight him next.

Atlas is being credited with reinvigorating Bradley in the wake of his split from long time trainer, Joel Diaz, and although his performance against Rios was stylish and dominant, it was clearly more down to Rios not showing up than it was anything Atlas did in the build-up, especially given their short time together and the fact Bradley entered the fight a considerable favourite in any case.

Bradley: 'With Atlas a 3rd Pacquiao Fight Could Be Different'

WBO welterweight champion, Tim Bradley, was full of praise for new trainer, Teddy Atlas, after last night’s stylish victory over Brandon Rios, going so far as to suggest a third fight with Manny Pacquiao, ‘could possibly be different’ with him in the corner.

In the build-up to this Rios fight, Bradley made much of the fact that Atlas had managed to reinvigorate him and totally change his approach, executing a perfect game-plan through studying past-footage and mistakes, and then correcting those errors in the gym.

Bradley KOs Rios; Lomachenko stops Koasicha

Brandon Rios (33-3-1, 24 KOs) was totally outclassed tonight in losing to WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) by a 9th round knockout in a one-sided mismatch between these two Top Rank promoted fighters at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rios was stopped for the first time in his 11-year pro career after getting knocked down twice in the 9th from body shots.

Bradley: Ready to Show Off Improvements Under Atlas

Bradley: Ready to Show Off Improvements Under Atlas

It would appear that WBO welterweight champion, Tim Bradley’s new trainer Teddy Atlas, has taken the lion’s share of headlines ahead of tonight’s HBO clash with Brandon Rios, though Bradley claims he is more than fine with that and fans will see the fruits of their labour in the ring.

It was following June’s fight with Jessie Vargas – in which Bradley was badly buzzed in the dying seconds – that ‘Desert Storm’ dropped long-time cornerman, Joel Diaz, in favour of the limelight-friendly Atlas, who famously overshadowed Michael Moorer’s hard fought 1994 victory over Evander Holyfield with his animated words between rounds.
