His opponent, the 36 year old Manny Pacquiao, comes into the match with his professional ledger reading 57-5-2 with 38 knockouts. Pacquiao had 2 strong showings in 2014, when he avenged his “loss” against Timothy Bradley and followed that up with an impressive outing against unproven Chris Algieri. Mayweather on the other hand held a pair of victories over Marcos Maidana in 2014, but he did not look as dominant as he had the previous year in wins over Robert Guerrero and Canelo Alvarez.
This fight will undoubtedly help define the legacies of both fighters.
