IBF/IBO and “The Ring Magazine” World Heavyweight Champion and WBA/WBO Superchampion Wladimir Klitschko will defend his titles against Tyson Fury at ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf, Germany on October 24th. At today’s press conference in London both faced each other for a second press conference. Before Fury attended the press conference he stormed into the room wearing a Batman costume. Wladimir and the over 120 Journalists attending took it with humor: “this is a really entertaining press conference, maybe the most exciting one. Good job Tyson.”
Fury used the occasion to promote himself and to directly address to Wladimir: “October 24th is mine, my time to shine. It’s going to be a very sharp, very simple knockout. I can’t wait for this. I want it this weekend. You get knocked out.“
Wladimir calmly responded: „Tyson Fury said he will quit boxing when he loses to me. I have friends at Cirque du Soleil and they have good jobs for clowns like you.” After that he directly confronted the 6’9’ Briton: “You need therapy. I will save you. You are with a doctor now. I believe in you and you will become a better person.“
On his preparation for the fight Wladimir was very open at the press conference: “I’m doing so much training. I switched from 3 to 4 workouts per day. Usually I’m doing 110 to 120 sparring rounds. This time it will be more than 200. I’ve never done it before.” He was referring to the continuous allusions to his age (39) made by Fury: “Fury always talks about the age but that’s just a number. On October 24th I will show him who is the older looking.”
