Vineyard Ave. Path to Glory – February 16th will feature Jaime De La Torre (11-2-2, 8 KOs) against Errol “Taz” Banner (8-8-1, 4 KOs) in a 10 round super middleweight main event.
De La Torre, a local household name, will comeback to the Inland Empire after a two-year hiatus as he hopes to earn a title shot. A more dedicated De La Torre won his past four consecutive fights in Washington.
His opponent, Errol “Taz” Banner, who will fight for Thompson Boxing Promotions for a second time, has faced fighters such as WBO and NABA super middleweight champion Ikeke Kingsley, highly rated contender Librado Andrade, and crowd favorite Pat Lawlor. .
A historical event will also take place on February 16th as Dominic Salcido (3-0, 2 KOs) faces Rogelio Ramirez (3-2-2,1 KO), and his older sister; world ranked Marilyn Salcido (10-4-3, 3 KOs) will fight Carla Wilcox (4-4, 1 KO). For the first time, siblings will be featured in a boxing card in two six round junior lightweight and bantamweight bouts respectively.
Also featured on the card will be Chris Arreola (3-0, 3 KOs) versus Semesi Bloomfield (1-2-1) in a four round heavyweight barnburner. Arreola, known as “The Nightmare”, will face Bloomfield, known as “The Tongan Warrior”, for the second time. On their first encounter as amateurs “The Tongan Warrior” won a close decision. Arreola, of course, wants revenge.
In addition, Thompson Boxing Promotions will present welterweight sensation Jose Reynoso (2-0, 1 KO) against Mauricio Grajeda (1-1, 1 KO) in a four round bout. Finally, Carlitos “The Little Hitman” Perez will make his pro debut against seasoned Larry Olvera (0-2-1) in a four round super flyweight fight.
