Abdulaev stopps Godoy to retain intercontinental title at 140

15.02.05 – Stuttgart – On tuesday evening Spotlight Boxing promoted an event in south Germany’s Stutgart inside the athmospheric and elegant „Alte Reithalle“ of Maritim Hotel. In the main event Usbekian Mahamat Abdulaev defeated Argentine Juan Alberto Godoy with a spectacular knockout in round 3 in a contest at jr. welterweight..

Abdulaev landed two brutal hooks to the head of his opponent after 2 minutes and 45 seconds to up his record to 15-1 with 12 knockouts and retained his WBO intercontinental title. Godoy dropped to 15-6-1 with 3 knockouts.

In a woman world title fight German beauty Silke Weickenmeier retained her WIBF featherweight crown with a unanimous decision over American Jayla Ortiz. One weightclass lower the IBF Youth world title changed hands when Renan Acosta, 16-2 (5), from Panama beat defending champion Rashad Ismayilov over ten rounds.

Celebrating a solid comeback was former 140 lb. top contender from the Ukraine Andreas Kotelnik, 24-1 (11), who beat tough Argentine Marcelo Gonzalo Saucedo very convincingly over eight rounds.

The quickest knockout of the evening was scored by German-Polish super middleweight novice Lukas Wilaschek, 5-0 (4), who stopped Frenchman Christophe Karagoz after just two minutes and 45 seconds of the opening round.

Seven fights of the fightcard were shown live on the internet on www.boxing.de in a broadcast that began at 18:00 and lasted more than three hours. From 22:00 Eurosport televised the remaining three fights live all over Europe.
