Yuri Foreman headlines Broadway Boxing show Feb. 24th

08.02.05 – Unbeaten Brooklyn junior middleweight Yuri Foreman, 16-0 with 7 KO’s, will headline 2005’s third installment of DiBella Entertainment’s Broadway Boxing Presented by Mohegan Sun slated for February 24th, 2005 at the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center. DBE will host a press luncheon at Gallagher’s Steak House on Wednesday, February 9, beginning at 11:30 AM to announce the card..

Foreman, from Haifa, Israel, now fighting out of Brooklyn, has marched through the junior middleweight ranks to an unblemished record of 16-0, with 7 triumphs coming by way of knockout. He will appear in the main event, an eight round junior middleweight test.

A bevy of New York tough guys representing four boroughs will also see action. Fort Apache’s Jeffrey Resto (17-2, 11 KO’s) takes on Detroit’s Wilmer Torres (11-3, 5 KO’s) in an eight round junior welterweight bout. Brooklyn’s knockout artist Curtis Stevens (4-0, 4 KO’s) squares off against Eric Graham (10-2-2, 5 KO’s) of Newark in a six round light heavyweight bout. The popular Edgar Santana (12-2, 8 KO’s) of Spanish Harlem will appear in an eight round junior welterweight fight. Charles Vanderveer of Brooklyn, Washington Hago of Queens and Damien Rapley of Manhattan will also see action on the show.

U.S. Olympian and Winter Haven, Florida native Andre Berto (3-0, 2 KO’s), returns to the Big Apple for another four round junior middleweight contest.

The Broadway Boxing cards originate from venues in the five boroughs, the greater New York Metropolitan Tri-State area, and Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Mohegan Sun is the series site sponsor. Turner Construction, HBO Sports, and Gallagher’s Steak House are also sponsors.

The card will be broadcast live on HDNet, and on a later date on Madison Square Garden Network, Fox Sports Net New England, and Comcast Sportnet Chicago.
