07.04.05 – Two big hitters, Javier Olvera of Mexico City and Antonio Cervantes of Ensenada, Mexico, clash in the 10-round lightweight main event on the nationally and internationally televised “Guilty Fight Night” card presented by Guilty Boxing Friday, April 15, at El Foro in Tijuana, Mexico..
Olvera has a record of 12-1 with 11 knockouts while Cervantes also has failed to stop only one opponent with a mark of 8-4-1 and seven knockouts.
Both have nicknames that reflex their punching prowess: Olvera is called “He Man” while Cervantes is dubbed “Bazooka.”
Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are seen domestically on America One and The Urban Network; in Europe, Africa and middle eastern countries on Fox Sports International; in Europe and Africa on BEN Television; and in the Caribbean on WCVI Super Station.
Guilty Boxing’s weekly cards are seen in 83.5 million households worldwide, making Guilty Productions one of the fastest-growing providers of boxing television programming in the world.
This is another in the ongoing series of “Guilty Fight Night” cards to be held in Tijuana. The innovative Guilty Boxing series was launched last May and has presented cards in Las Vegas, California, Arizona and Connecticut as well as Tijuana.
Six-round bouts on the eight-bout card include: light heavyweight Arturo Ibarra (4-1, 2 KOs) of San Diego against Ramiro Siordia (8-2, 5 KOs) of Ensenada and middleweight Octavio Castro
(6-0, 4 KOs) of Guyamas, Mexico, against Heriberto Escobar (0-1-1) of Tijuana.
Four-round bouts include: welterweight Brian Rodriguez (pro debut) of Tijuana against Juan Hernandez (pro debut) of Tijuana; featherweight Efren Arreola (4-0-1, 2 KOs) of Ensenada against Francisco Harris (2-0) of Mazatlan, Mexico; super bantamweight Ambrosio Hernandez (4-8, 0 KOs) of Tijuana against Abel Montiel (3-0) of Tijuana; super flyweight Rodolfo Alonso Galicia (1-0, 0 KOs) of Tijuana against Felipe Acosta (2-7) of Los Mochis, Mexico; and super flyweight Daniel Gonzalez (4-0, 3 KOs) of Tijuana against Ricardo Valencia (1-5, 0 KOs) of Los Mochis.
The card starts at 7 p.m. (Pacific) with gates to El Foro opening at 6.
Commentators for Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are “The Colonel” Bob Sheridan and Benny Ricardo. Sheridan, a Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, has worked almost 800 world championship bouts on six continents during a career that has spanned more than three decades. Ricardo, for 11 years a place kicker on four NFL teams, also is a veteran announcer and has covered the biggest events in the sports world, ranging from Super Bowls to World Cups.
