05.05.05 – Cristobal Cruz of Tijuana, Mexico, faces former World Boxing Council Fecarbox 126-pound and WBC Mundo Hispano lightweight champion Francisco Dianzo in a rematch in their 10-round main event on the nationally and internationally televised “Guilty Fight Night” card presented by Guilty Boxing Friday, May 6, at El Foro in Tijuana, Mexico.
Cruz, who’s also ranked No. 21 by the WBC, stopped Dianzo in the 11th round of their bout for the WBC Continental Americas featherweight championship during 2002.
Dianzo was the WBC Fecarbox featherweight champion during 2001 and the WBC Mundo Hispano 135-pound champ during 2004.
Both Cruz and Dianzo are big punchers. The 27-year-old Cruz has a record of 30-7-1 with 19 knockouts while the 33-year-old Dianzo has a mark of 20-5 with 17 knockouts.
Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are seen domestically on America One, Comcast Sports Chicago, DirecTV, Dish Network and The Urban Network; in Europe, Africa and middle eastern countries on Fox Sports International; in Europe and Africa on BEN Television; and in the Caribbean on WCVI Super Station.

This is another in the ongoing series of “Guilty Fight Night” cards to be held in Tijuana. The innovative Guilty Boxing series was launched last May and has presented cards in Las Vegas, California, Arizona and Connecticut as well as Tijuana.
Six-round fights on the seven-bout card include: super featherweight Filito Young
(6-0-1, 5 KOs) of Tijuana against Azael Loera (0-3-2) of Los Mochis, Mexico, and super flyweight Juan Jose Beltran
(10-12-3, 6 KOs) of Los Mochis against Benito Abraham (9-5-3, 6 KOs) of Tijuana.
Four-round bouts include: welterweight Ivan Alvarez (Pro Debut) of Mexicali, Mexico, against Cristian Romero (0-1) of Los Mochis; lightweight Refugio Contreras (1-0, 1 KO) of Tijuana against Jesus Gonzalez (3-0, 2 KOs) of Tijuana; super featherweight Jose Luis Alvarez (0-2) of Tijuana against Jose Fernandez (1-0-1, 0 KOs) of Tijuana; and super bantamweight Ricardo Alvarez (6-5, 4 KOs) of Los Mochis against Roberto Ventura (2-1, 1 KO) of Tijuana.
The card starts at 7 p.m. (Pacific) with gates to El Foro opening at 6.
Commentators for Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are “The Colonel” Bob Sheridan and Benny Ricardo. Sheridan, a Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, has worked almost 800 world championship bouts on six continents during a career that has spanned more than three decades. Ricardo, for 11 years a place kicker on four NFL teams, also is a veteran announcer and has covered the biggest events in the sports world, ranging from Super Bowls to World Cups.
