Michael Brodie’s Red Rage

17.05.05 – Michael Brodie has come out fighting ahead of his WBO World Featherweight title challenge against champion Scott Harrison in support of his beloved football team Manchester United. Red’s supporter Brodie is livid that American Malcolm Glazer has taken control of the club he has followed since he was a small boy and now, like thousands of other loyal and passionate fans, is concerned over the future of Old Trafford..

The Manchester slugger, currently in training for his featherweight dust-up with Glasgow hardman Harrison, even wishes that Glazer is in the opposite corner on Friday 3 June at the M.E.N Arena instead of the Scotsman.

“I’d fight for free if I could get Glazer into the ring instead of Harrison and I’d give him a right pasting for the fans,” fumed the former undefeated European champion.

He added, “I am a lifelong supporter of Man U and was devastated to hear that Glazer, who couldn’t give a damn about football or the fans, is taking control of our historic club,”

“He’s not a football man and he doesn’t understand what it means to the fans who go to the matches week-in and week-out,”

“Only the other week I was truly honoured to be allowed onto the pitch during half-time at Old Trafford in their game against West Bromwich Albion and received a fantastic reception from the fans,”

“The Reds have really got behind me in my fight against Harrison and even though I’m in preparations for the biggest night of my life, I am still prepared to stand alongside them in the fight to get rid of Glazer,”

“Ever since I was a boy, my dream was to win a World title and defend it at Old Trafford. I’m now close to winning the world title with only Harrison standing in the way, but now Glazer is destroying the dream title defence at Old Trafford,”

Brodie finished by saying, “With every punch that I am throwing at Harrison, I will imagine the face of Glazer instead and that will be enough motivation for me to win the World title.”
