08.06.05 – Young counter-puncher Michael Lozada faces relentless Gerardo Zayas in the 10-round super featherweight main event on the nationally and internationally televised “Guilty Fight Night” card presented by Guilty Boxing Friday, June 17, at El Foro in their hometown of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico..
The 21-year-old Lozada has a record of 15-1-1 with nine knockouts and is just a few wins away from making a serious run at a world ranking. Zayas lists a mark of 22-11-1 with 12 knockouts.
Lozada has won both his bouts this year, a seventh-round knockout of Erick Perez April 30 in Cuautitlan, Mexico, and a 10-round unanimous decision over Antonio Cervantes on a Guilty Boxing card Feb. 11 at El Foro in Tijuana.
Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are seen domestically on America One, Comcast Sports Chicago, DirecTV, Dish Network and The Urban Network; in Europe, Africa and middle eastern countries on Fox Sports International; in Europe and Africa on BEN Television; in the Caribbean on WCVI Super Station; and in Japan.

This is another in the ongoing series of “Guilty Fight Night” cards to be held in Tijuana. The innovative Guilty Boxing series was launched during May, 2004, and has presented cards in Las Vegas, California, Arizona and Connecticut as well as Tijuana.
Six-round fights on the 10-bout Guilty Boxing card include: heavyweight Marcos Geraldo Jr. (6-0, 6 KOs) of Tijuana against an opponent to be determined; welterweight Fernando Uribe (4-0, 3 KOs) of Mexico City against Juanito Rodriguez (4-4, 2 KOs) of Tijuana; super lightweight Pavel Miranda (4-0, 2 KOs) of Tijuana against Fernando Ortiz of Tijuana; lightweight Jose Guadalupe Ramos (5-2, 3 KOs) of Tijuana against Jesus Gonzales (4-0, 3 KOs) of Tijuana; lightweight Oscar Meza (5-1, 2 KOs) of Culiacan, Sinaloa, against an opponent to be determined; and featherweight Juan Carlos Burgos (3-0, 3 KOs) of Tijuana against Jose Fernandez (1-0-1, 0 KOs) of Tijuana.
Four-round fights include: super welterweight Heriberto Escobar (0-2-1) of Tijuana against Jesus Flores (1-0, 1 KO) of Tijuana; welterweight Carlos Bryan Rodriguez (1-0, 0 KOs) of Tijuana against an opponent to be determined; and bantamweight Jesus Vasquez (3-0, 2 KOs) of Culiacan against Jose Mendoza (1-11, 1 KO) of Tijuana.
The Guilty Boxing card starts at 7 p.m. (Pacific) with gates to El Foro opening at 6.
Commentators for Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are “The Colonel” Bob Sheridan and Benny Ricardo. Sheridan, a Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, has worked almost 800 world championship bouts on six continents during a career that has spanned more than three decades. Ricardo, for 11 years a place kicker on four NFL teams, also is a veteran announcer and has covered the biggest events in the sports world, ranging from Super Bowls to World Cups.
