Bobby Bostick Presents “Spring Break Boxing”

11.04.06 – Jarrett Blakeley: April 19, 2006. The Palm Beach Convention Center. As the lights go dim there is an electricity in the air. At first the music sounds far away but in a moment you feel it through your entire body. The darkness is pierced by a ray of light and the crowd explodes as Kermit ‘The Killer’ Cintron begins his march towards destiny. Women in four inch heels are practically jumping out of their dresses and the men cheer passionately for their young hero.. South Florida’s biggest fight in decades is only moments away and it is live on ESPN2! The site is the Palm Beach Convention Center. There are very few tickets remaining.

The only barrier between ‘The Killer’ and world-wide superstardom is standing in the ring, and he is a formidable opponent indeed. The challenger, David Estrada took ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley the distance less than one year ago. It was a hard fought battle that elevated both men in the eyes of boxing fans everywhere.

Moments after learning he had won the fight, Mosley heaped praise upon Estrada, “He’s a tough fighter and he had a strong will.”

David Estrada (18-2) was ranked #2 by the WBC at the time of his defeat to Mosley and he is hungry to get back on top of the welterweight division. Estrada’s only other defeat was almost three years ago against ‘The Contender’ star, Ishe Smith. Kermit ‘The Killer’ Cintron will be his toughest challenge yet.

‘The Killer’ has twenty five victories with just one defeat. His lone setback was in a World Title Fight at a packed Caesar’s Palace. It was against the man many consider to be the best pound for pound fighter in the sport, Antonio Margarito. ‘The Killer’ has not been pushed the distance since 2003, with 92% of his victories coming by way of knockout.

In the aftermath of Cintron’s only defeat, Promoter Bobby Bostick outbid Don King, Main Events, Gary Shaw, and Top Rank’s Bob Arum for the rights to the young prodigy. Kermit Cintron picked up right where he left off, knocking out Francisco Parra in the third round to set up this highly anticipated super-fight with Estrada.

This fight has everything. These are two young, busy, hard-punching fighters with everything to gain and everything to lose. The winner will be the #2 IBF Welterweight contender with a chance to fight Floyd ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather, Antonio Margarito, Oscar De La Hoya, ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley, or Fernando Vargas. The loser goes back to the drawing board.

Any boxing expert worth the chair he’s sitting in will tell you this will be the Ring Magazine Fight of the Year. Every major fighter in the sport will be in attendance as well as countless celebrities, models, and beautiful women of all shapes and sizes. There is even a Battle of the Sexes Spring Break Best Body Contest with Promoter Bobby Bostick rewarding the winner with a three year promotional contract to be put in music videos, magazines, movies etc. The afterparty will be held at the very famous nightclub formerly co-owned by Bobby Bostick, The Renegades Country Night Club. The ESPN2 telecast begins at 10:00 PM Eastern. Get your tickets now, before it’s too late.
