Camarena – Gallegos – Ortiz In Boxing Trifecta

SANTA FE, NM (April 17, 2006) – Debbie Cushner, Double D Enterprises and Aurelio Martinez, InsideBoxing.com have teamed up to bring world-class professional boxing events to the Land of Enchantment. The first show is scheduled for May 5 at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Rd., Santa Fe, New Mexico. The boxing event will also be in celebration of Mexican holiday “Cinco de Mayo”. The Cinco de Mayo show will highlight a trifecta of headliners..

Former New Mexico Bantamweight champion Jayla Ortiz will step into the ring as she challenges for the NABC title. Ortiz, from Santa Fe is eager to showcase her skills in front of the home town crowd as she fights to bring home the NABC championship.

“I really want to bring the title to my community and be Santa Fe’s first champion. My fans deserve nothing less.”

The card will also sport local New Mexican Shawn Gallegos in a clash against El Paso’s Carlos Madrid in an 8 round lightweight contest. Gallegos is a high school teacher in Las, Vegas, NM and has been crowned the New Mexico State lightweight champ New Mexico and State jr. welterweight champ. Gallegos was named “Fighter of the Year” in 2003.

“It’s good to fight in my home state, I’m ready to make New Mexico proud.”

Southwest fighter and world rated Donald Camarena will show why he is considered a top contender as he faces African Frans Hantindi in a 10 round contest. Camarena fought his amateur career in El, Paso winning the Texas state Golden Gloves three years in a row. As a professional he has captured 5 titles, the Rocky Mountain Regional, Canadian-American-Mexican, WBC World Youth, WBC Intercontinental Mundo Hispano and the WBC Continental Americas championships.

“I’m ready to show that the Southwest fighters are the best in the business.” Said Camarena

Supporting cast includes Espanola’s Tony Valdez, “I want to be the one to disprove the negativity said about my town. Our town is small but the people’s hearts are big and they will be beating hard on May 5th.” Supporting cast also includes Denver’s Lillian Camarena.

On May 5, fight fans will be treated to night of outstanding fighters.
