Gunn vs Landberg Rescheduled

Clearwater, FL July 11, 2006: The IBA Cruiserweight World Title Fight “Night of Champions” between Bobby Gunn (15-2 w/12 KOs) and Shannon Landberg (58-11 w/26 KOs) originally scheduled for August 19, 2006 will now be pushed back four weeks due to the War in Iraq. How, you ask, did the War in Iraq cause the fight to be rescheduled? Well, Shannon Landberg is an Army Reservist and has been called to local duty in Indiana for the weekend of August 19-20. Unfortunately, this postponement was unavoidable and necessary due to Landberg’s previous commitment to the U.S. Military..

The new rescheduled date is set for Saturday September 16, 2006 at the LCO Casino in Hayward, WI. Rock Solid Boxing Promotions, Inc. President Joe McEwen, III had this to say, “While it is an inconvenience and unfortunate that we must reschedule this fantastic event, everyone at Rock Solid Boxing and the LCO Casino understands and appreciates Shannon’s commitment and dedication to the U.S. Military and we are more than willing to accommodate him. While boxing is a Nobel and Honorable sport, sometimes we must take a backseat to more serious and pressing matters. This is one of those times. I want to thank the LCO Casino and it’s fine staff for making the necessary adjustments in the Casino’s event schedule to insure that “Night of Champions” was rescheduled in a timely fashion.”

All previously purchased tickets will be honored on the new date, or, if you choose, you may receive a full refund from the LCO Casino if you cannot make the rescheduled date.

The Main Event of “Night of Champions” will feature the IBA Cruiserweight World Title while the undercard presents two additional Championships and several bouts between local fighters. The Inaugural LCO Casino Jr. Welterweight Championship will be fought for between Mike “Primetime” Post (11-0 w/9 KOs) and veteran fighter Marty “Too Sweet” Robbins (21-32 w/15 KOs) in what promises to be a 10 round war. Also the card will present the Inaugural LCO Casino Ladies Lightweight Championship featuring Melinda Woody (1-1) versus the pro-debut of Wisconsin amateur champion Krista Savage. There is a scheduled Heavyweight battle between Brian Veach and Roger Cargill as well as other match-ups showcasing local talent from the Wisconsin and Minnesota areas.
