Mike Gonzalez Cruises To 9-0

CHICAGO (November 16, 2006) This past Friday night, November 10th at a packed Cicero Stadium, undefeated lightweight prospect Mike Gonzalez improved his record to 9-0 with 8 knockouts on the 8 Count Productions CICERO CHILL event. Gonzalez, a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, now fighting out of Milwaukee, WI, won a six round unanimous decision over Marcus Brashears of Amarillo, Texas with all three judges scoring the bout 59-55..

Said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, “Brashears was a very crafty fighter; he had a real solid amateur background and knew his way around the ring. It was another solid learning experience for Mike who continues to show great progress.

It’s been an outstanding year for Mike, he’s shown terrific improvement and we’re looking for great things from him in the future. I should have an announcement on his next fight shortly.”

Said the modest Gonzalez, “The fight went well, he was a skilled guy with fast hands and was tough to hit. He also had a solid chin as I hit him with some bombs that I was surprised he took. I’m glad the fans at Cicero Stadium enjoyed the fight; it’s always great to fight in Chicago.”
