On Friday December 1, 2006 boxing fans will get an early holiday treat as one of the hottest heavyweight prospect’s in the world and a rematch of a sizzling fight highlights a terrific boxing card promoted by Vernoca L. Michael and Blue Horizon Boxing Promotions that will take place at The Legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia..
In the main event, Joey “Minnesota Ice” Abell will risk his undefeated knockout record in a six round bout. The co-feature will be a rematch of a Jr. Welterweight bout from 2004 as Steve Chambers takes on Lenny Divictoria in an eight round bout.
Abell, 9-0 with nine knockouts is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Philadelphia with his aggressive power punching style which has taken him less then sixteen rounds to dispose of his nine opponents.
He is coming off the longest outing of his career on October 13th as he was extended four rounds by 52 fight veteran Louis Monaco at The Legendary Blue Horizon.
Abell will be making his sixth consecutive appearance at The Legendary Blue Horizon
Abell’s opponent will be announced shortly.
Just 21 years-old, Steve “Showtime” Chambers, of Philadelphia has already amassed a record of 13-1 with four knockouts. With each bout, Chambers has shown great improvement that has helped him get on an nine fight win streak (with one no-contest) and on December 1st will be looking to make his streak hit double digits.
In order to do that he must get by the tough Lenny “El Diablo” Divictoria. Divictoria and Chambers met on September 10, 2004 at The Legendary Blue Horizon in a back and forth rumble that had the sold out crowd standing throughout the fight.
When the verdict came back, Chambers had narrowly escaped with the victory via split decision (58-56 on two cards for Chambers and 58-56 for Divictoria)
Divictoria has a very deceiving 8-6 (two knockouts) record as the fighter’s he lost to had a combined record of 61-4-2 at the time of the bouts.
Divictoria is hungry for a win as he has lost three straight bouts that includes a tough decision loss to undefeated prospect (11-0-1) Jorge Terron in New York on September 20. This Past June 2nd, Divctoria received a coveted SHO BOX appearance as he was stopped in seven rounds by hot prospect and undefeated (14-0) Mario Santiago.
Matchmaker, Don Elbaum is putting together an exciting undercard that will be highlighted by Gee Culmer of Philadelphia (9-1, 3 KO’s), who will be making his fifth consecutive appearance at The Legendary Blue Horizon as he takes on James North (8-14-2, 3 KO’s).
Thrilling featherweight, Jules Blackwell, (2-0, 1 KO—both fights at The Legendary Blue Horizon) of nearby Phoenixville, PA will be in action in a four round bout.
Bryheim Douglas, fresh off his successful pro debut at The Legendary Blue Horizon on October 13, will see action in a four round lightweight bout.
The big boys will get it on as debuting Camiolous Nichols treks down from New York to take on Sam Brown of Fort Cambell, Kentucky (1-1) in a four round bout.
December 1st will also mark the pro debut of Paul Fernandez.
