Thrilling Rematch On Tap For Munyai – Power 2

In these times when fighters, managers and promoters are so careful about matchmaking, a thriller is in store when Martin ‘Too Much’ Power, 19-1 (8 KO’s), goes head to head with Tshifhiwa ‘The Atomic Spider’ Munyai, 12-0-1 (7 KO’s), his sole conqueror to date, at Goresbrook Leisure Centre in Dagenham, London on January 26, 2007..

Usually the only place the public can see two top fighters such as these in a rematch, both who totally believe that victory will be theirs, is in Las Vegas.

Epic clashes between the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera’s 63-4-0 (42 KO’s) two victories against Rocky Juarez, 25-3-0 (18 KO’s), for the WBC Super Featherweight title spring to mind; as do the vicious clashes between Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo and Joel Casamayor for the WBO and WBC Lightweight titles.

When a British fighter on the losing end of a boxing classic with a hugely talented, but previously unknown, fighter insists on a rematch, you have to take your hat off to him.

And just 26 days into the New Year, Martin Power confidently steps up to seek his revenge for last year’s battering. This may be the fight of 2007 and maybe the rematch of the decade as both of these extraordinarily talented fighters has no doubt that victory will be anything but theirs.

Power, 26, is putting everything on the line for this fight as he is fully aware that if 21 year old Munyai from the South African Townships defeats him again, domestic bouts will be all he can hope for in the future.

The super-confidant Munyai uses this rematch as a launching pad for the World title that he believes will be his and is determined not to lose that position. So confident of success is Munyai’s team of defeating Power they are already looking for their next victim.

Likely targets for the fearsome South African is Ian Napa, 13-5-0, and the multi- talented former Commonwealth and British Bantamweight titleholder Nicky Booth 17-5-1 (7 KO’s) who marks his return under the guidance of matchmaker Jimmy Gill.
