By popular demand Dana Pitcher Productions returns to Alexandria, where patrons always receive a spectacular evening of live action entertainment for their viewing pleasure. “It’s going to be a really good card of evenly matched fights,” said promoter Dana Pitcher of Baton Rouge-based Dana Pitcher Productions Inc. “The main event is going to be a hell of a fight”. The main event features the speedy and flashy Tyrese “The Head Honcho” Hendrix 8-0 (6ko’s) who battles Dallas’ knockout sensation “Handsome” Hector Beltran 10-1 (8ko’s) in a key 8 round lightweight match-up. According to boxing insiders, this bout should have the place burning down.

Hendrix, aka “Country”, who hails from Gainesville, GA, was a six-time state and regional amateur champion at 154 pounds. He’s known as a speed machine capable of doing anything inside the squared circle. Tyrese sports a professional record of eight wins and one draw, with five knockouts. Finally, he will be given the opportunity to mix it up with the upper echelon of the lightweight division. Beginning March 30 he will receive his baptism into the divisions’ deep waters against the colorful Beltran. When asked about the biggest fight of his career so far Tyrese Hendrix stated “You always have to take advantage of an opportunity like this. It’s not every day you get a chance to K.O. a fighter with a record like Beltran’s. This win should definitely get me to the next level. I mean let’s face it I’m faster, bigger, stronger, and better. This is just one more stepping stone.

“Handsome” Hector is known as a knockout artist. He returns to the ring in 2007, following a hand injury which curtailed his activities in 2006 .In his last bout, he scored an impressive first round stoppage over Detrick Castor, back in December. Since turning pro in 2003, the heavy-handed Beltran has an impressive record of ten victories, with an astonishing nine knockouts including a one-time streak of eight straight victories. Hector said “We’ll see how quick he is at getting up”

The co-main event features NABF, IBO & WBC Fecarbox Champion Elieser “Cuban Destroyer” Castillo 28-5 (16ko’s) of Miami, Florida, stepping it up in a 10-round clash against veteran Andrew Greeley 16-9 (8ko’s).

Castillo, who defected to the United States from Cuba on a raft in the early 90’s, was once a decorated amateur boxer in the proud Cuban amateur system. As a professional he has raised the heavyweight ladder with impressive wins against Andre Purlette, Lawrence Cley-Bey, and Corey Sanders. He scored a terrific fourth round knockout against back in April of ’06. The crafty southpaw has been avoided throughout his career, which contributes to frequent periods of inactivity. However, he is now promoted by Dana Pitcher and he anticipates a full plate on his schedule beginning with Greeley.

Joining Beltran and Hendrix on this sure to be exciting card will be San Antonio’s fast moving hard hitting Gilberto Elizondo 4-0 (2ko’s), will mix it up in a 6 round slug fest against Antoine “The Truth” Smith 3-0 (2ko’s). Someone’s o must go!

Also, featured on the spectacular under card will be Alexandria’s own Heath “Lil Rocky” Nichols 2-0 (2ko’s) in a 4 round must see match against veteran John Temple 8-7. The popularity of the 32 year old Nichols is unsurpassed. He has his own reserved Ringside section (which can only be purchase at AA Western Store.) to accommodate his many fans and he is no doubt a crowd pleaser.

Further bolstering the already strong card will be fighters like John “Action” Jackson 10-1 (10ko’s), Jorge Ruiz 6-1 and Tafari Beard 4-1 from Baton Rouge.

In addition, as an added attraction, five world class mixed martial arts bouts are, scheduled for this action-packed extravaganza. Mixed martial arts (mma), which is more commonly known as Ultimate Fighting, no doubt, is the hottest sport in the country. The techniques utilized in mma competition generally fall into two categories: striking techniques (such as kicks, knees and punches) and grappling techniques (such as clinch holds, pinning holds, submission holds, sweeps, takedowns and throws).

Victory is normally gained by the judges’ decision after an allotted amount of time has elapsed, a stoppage by the referee or the fight doctor, a submission by a competitor’s corner man (throwing in the towel), or knockout.

Highlighting the mixed martial arts bouts will be heavyweight Jeremiah Cage 5-1 vs Chris Seifert 7-2 from Baton Rouge. Making his debut from Alexandria, La. will be Kelvin Hackney vs Miguel Aguila. Plus, see other great MMA fighters like Bryan Foster 5-2, Zane Marks 2-0 and John Leblanc 3-1 to name a few.
