Although they still don´t have permission from the government´s Martial Arts Delegation New Sweden Boxing Promotion today announced their planned March 31 show in Gothenburg. In the headliner female middle Aasa Sandell will fight American Dakota Stone for an obscure title called WBE over six two minute rounds – and, yes they bill it as a “world” titlefight. The sole other confirmed fight on the show is an all Swedish matchup at feather between Richard Lundby and Karl Larsson-Jone. As previously reported the remainder of the show will feature local heroes, Mikael Lindblad, Johan Thorbjornsson, Giovanni Alvarez, Giulian Ilie, Benjamin Kalinovic and Daniel Hartwig against a team of fighters from the GBA in Germany.
Palm Promotions have announced the almost complete undercard program to Kessler vs Andrade March 24 in Copenhagen. The show opener, Lolenga Mock´s defence of the EU 168 lb title against Belgian Djamel Selini, is also the chief support. Opponent for Kessler´s chief sparring, ex-world title challenger Sakio Bika, have yet to be announced. Comebacking welter Thomas Damgaard takes on Belgian Jean Louis Bryla, who comes in fresh off an upset win over Frenchman Mustapha Bouzid. Highly ranked jr middle Reda Zam Zam face Venezuelan Carlos Donquiz. Heavyweight Claus Bertino is in against Portugese Umberto Evora.
EMA Telstar, a very big, if not the biggest, event and concert promoter in Sweden and Scandinavia will enter professional boxing and have their show first planned for September 21 in Stockholm. They have for now four shows planned for 07-08. Handling boxing affairs is Patrick Wheeler, who during the 90´s were involved in Star Fights that had the then up an coming Paolo Roberto under their wings. Wheeler have since remained in boxing and promoted a number of successful amateur shows.
