04.04.07 – On the heels of his upcoming WBO Cruiserweight boxing Title fight in Cardiff, Wales, IBA Cruiserweight World Champion Bobby Gunn recently paid a visit to Nashville, Tennessee. Having fought four of his last five fights in Middle Tennessee, Bobby Gunn has developed a rather extended fan base here and it was quite obvious by the amount of fan support and excitement the Champ generated wherever he went..
While he was in town on official business for a meeting with Team Gunn’s physician Dr. David Florence, he did take time out of his busy schedule to visit with members of the Nashville Fire Department Engine #33 and with members of the staff at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester, TN.
“Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area are like a second home to me. The fans are very supportive of my boxing career and everyone here is just so nice and friendly. I always enjoy a visit to Tennessee and this trip was no exception. The guys at the Nashville Fire Department treated my like I was one of their own. I have such respect and admiration for all of those brave men and women who risk their lives for our safety. And of course Dr. Florence and his staff are always very accommodating and they never fail to make me feel at home. It is humbling to know that there are so many people who believe in me and are pulling for me to be successful. Dr. Florence and his Team always make me fell like a true champion and I am greatly appreciative of their continued support. I must admit that is has been rather difficult for me to contain my enthusiasm regarding this WBO boxing Title fight against Enzo Maccarinelli and the positive atmosphere in Tennessee only added to my excitement. I want to personally thank everyone that I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and especially Eric McEwen of the Nashville Fire Department and Dr. David Florence for their hospitality and their kindness. You guys are the best!” Bobby Gunn, IBA World Champion
“Bobby looks fantastic and he is in the best shape of his life for this WBO Title opportunity. He is as strong as a bull and is as powerful as a tank. His conditioning is superb and his speed is as quick as a cat! He is both physically and mentally ready for this challenge on April 7th and Team Gunn is poised to electrify the boxing world. Bobby has had a tremendous training camp and he has worked day and night in preparation for this, the most important fight of his career. He is fully prepared and absolutely expects to take Maccarinelli’s WBO boxing Title from him when they clash in the ring next Saturday night. I have known Bobby for 16 years and I have never seen the man so confident and motivated. Enzo Maccarinelli will be walking into a buzz-saw on April 7th and I don’t think he can last 3 rounds with Bobby.” “Joe Mack” McEwen, Team Gunn
