(Tucson, Arizona) — Southern Arizona, come quench your thirst. The drought ends on Friday, April 20th, as Desert Diamond Casino brings back Rage in the Cage to the Diamond Center. Rage in the Cage will be pulling out all the stops for their RITC 93 show, complete with two championship titles. Tucsonan George Roop is putting his RITC Bantamweight Title on the line and local favorite, Robert “The Pounding Puerto Rican” Maldonado, is vying for the vacant Lightweight Title..
Eleven other grueling bouts are scheduled for the night, which include fifteen Tucson fighters. Tickets range from $30 to $100 in advance and are on sale now. Current RITC Bantamweight champion, George Roop (5-1), is featured in the first main event of the night as he faces Phoenix challenger, Ray Robinson (6-4). Roop, a former high school wrestler, won the belt at his last showing at the Diamond Center on November 11th.
The second main event pits the highly experienced Robert “The Pounding Puerto Rican” Maldonado (14-11) against Derithe Harper (3-1).Maldonado will have the home court advantage as he looks to take ownership of the RITC Lightweight Title against Harper, who fights out of Phoenix.
The featured fights include Tohono O’odham Nation member, Andy Montana (16-10) against Tucsonan Alan Roberts (4-2), Jeremy Larsen (1-0), Tucson, versus Paul Arroyo (2-3), Glendale, and Yuma’s Efraín Escudero (3-0) faces Rudy Baez (0-1) out of Tucson.
Undercard fights will feature Eddie Arizmendi (1-1), Nic Stone (1-0), David Burns, Ryan Kelly, Luis Lopez, Avery Burroughs (0-1), Andrew Perez, David Lopez, Ramon Garcia, Robert Wilbanks, Mike Smith (0-1), Kaywan Sepassi, Joe Stojak (2-3), Daniel Hinsen (0-2), Jess Tucker, and Jerry Friestend.
