May 7, 2007 – Guts Fighting Incorporated’s RockBox will feature an exciting night of exhibition boxing between celebrity boxer Danny Bonaduce (Adam Corolla Show FreeFM Mornings) and Lee Honish (Fight_Net Radio FreeFM Weekends), as well as MMA/K1 superstar Bob “The Beast” Sapp (“The Longest Yard”) and a surprise celebrity athlete TBD. In addition, a special concert San Diego’s own six-time Grammy nominated P.O.D. will perform immediately following the boxing matches..
The feud between Danny “Boom Boom” Bonaduce and “Lightning” Lee Honish began months ago during a Fight_Net radio broadcast in which Honish asked Bonaduce’s wife out and made some unflattering comments about their divorce. Even though Bonaduce is out weighed by nearly 75 pounds, he promises a crazy fight.
The second celebrity bout will feature Bob Sapp, a star of both MMA and K1, and recognizable actor (recently was featured in “The Longest Yard”; “Elektra”, and has three upcoming films including “Remarkable Power”, “Player 150”, and “Big Stan.”) will fight a surprise celebrity athlete TBD (name to be confirmed at May 8th press conference.)
Finally, a concert featuring the pride of San Diego, mulit-platinum selling rock group POD will close the RockBox event. POD’s new album hits stores this summer.
On Tuesday May 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., RockBox will conduct their press conference and contract signing. Attending will be Danny Bonaduce, Lee Honish, and Sonny Sandoval (lead singer for P.O.D.) The press conference will take place on the main floor in the shadow of the “Rocky” statue and there will be light catering. We encourage all press to not miss this event as surprises are in store and the event will be newsworthy.
