Gutierrez and Garcia Headline Double Main Event on June 22

Pembroke Pines, Florida, June14 th, 2007 – Two of boxing’s hottest, young guns are scheduled to be the co-headliners in a spectacular double main event on June 22nd, in a nationally card televised live on ESPN2 from the extraordinary Mahai Temple in Miami, Florida. Richard “Baby Face” Garcia 40, (34kos) 2 -0 and Richard Gutierrez 20 (13kos) 1-0 are the featured fighters on a card that includes a pair of ten round Junior Middleweight bouts..

Garcia, ranked 28th in the world faces off against Philadelphia’s Troy Browning 19(8kos) 0-1. Garcia a native of Ciudad Acuria , Mexico has impressively won his last 11 consecutive fights by knock-out , meanwhile his opponett has never lost after 20 professional fights.Gutierrez will step into the right against Luciano Perez out of Chicago, Illinois. A native of Colombia , the 28 year old Gutierrez has posted 20 victories, including a devastating knock-out over Teddy Reid on National TV last time out in January at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Perez comes into the fight with an impressive record of 15 (13kos) 5-1. This card will be televised live nationally on ESPN2 on their Friday Night at the Fights pro boxing series.

In addition to all the DRL excitement for this upcoming fight card, DRL’s legendary 4-time boxing champion Roberto Duran is preparing to be inducted into the prestigious Boxing’s Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremonies are scheduled for June. Last summer Duran was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Duran compiled a 103-16 record, including 70 knockouts a testament to those hands of stone – in a career that spanned five decades, from Feb. 23, 1968 to July 14, 2001. And might have continued even longer if not for a car accident that nearly took his life in late 2001.
