People from different ethnicity will surely go through out for its bet or their countrymen when there is a fight. They are all set to spend their money or even cross the globe just to watch and support their boxing hero.
The year 2003 was the time when hostilities in the ring between the Philippines and Mexico began to erupt. Until now, the Intensity remains consistent. Despite of such scenarios, there was a man who was loved by millions of countrymen of his former arch – rival, Manny Pacquiao. That man was Erik “El Terrible” Morales.
After what can be considered one of the greatest trilogy in boxing history in which Morales won the first bout and Pacquiao the next two, they both became good friends, a character of a healthy sportsmanship attitude between two of the world’s best icons in boxing. Not too long ago, both shot a commercial in the Philippines with coach Freddie Roach as the supporting cast. Erik had a good sporty character to accept triumphs and defeats. Without any spiral words, he speaks directly to what he feels after a fight.
Following the commercial and recreations to some exclusive places of interest, fans always mobbed him just to get a glimpse, just like Oscar Larios. It is a clear manifestation, showing Filipino Hospitality worldwide, that Morales was cherished by Filipinos even those who are living in the U.S.
Morales was a fighter who always gives opponents a brawl of his life. In spite of that, he fights clean and gives dignity to his chosen field of profession. He will be remembered, not just an icon but an inspiration to all young Generation of boxing fighters. Mabuhay ka Erik!
