The 2008 Olympic Team Trials – Boxing Brackets are Set in Houston

20.08.07 – (HOUSTON, TEXAS) – The U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Boxing draw was completed on Sunday night at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Forty-four quarterfinal bouts will be contested in Monday’s opening day action with the winners advancing to the second round of winners’ bracket action.

Competition in the light flyweight, bantamweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and super heavyweight divisions will be contested in the noon session. The flyweight, featherweight, light welterweight, middleweight, and heavyweight division athletes will compete in six p.m. round action.

First round action will begin on Monday, August 20 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Olympic Team Trials action will run through August 26 with all of the victors earning berths on the U.S. Olympic Team.
