Chicago’s 8 Count Set For Huge Boxing Card On Friday Night

8 count productionsChicago’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, has announced final details of their world class professional boxing event set for this Friday night, September 14th at the Congress Theater. Celebrating Mexican Independence Day, “PRIDE” features terrific Mexican vs. Puerto Rican battles in both of the SOLO BOXEO televised main and co main event bouts.

In the main event, SOLO BOXEO staple Fernando Trejo, 29-12 (18KO’s) of Mexico City faces off against Juan Ramon Cruz, 15-3-1 (11KO’s) of San Juan, Puerto Rico in a ten round lightweight battle. The co-main event features Chicago based fighters as Francisco Rodriguez, 9-1 (6KO’s) of Guadalajara, Mexico squares off against Puerto Rican Ivan Rodriguez, 8-3-1 (3KO’s) in an eight round super bantamweight bout for the Illinois State Title..

Said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, “All four of these fighters have always been in terrific action packed fights. We expect both of these bouts to have non-stop action which Chicago fight fans have come to expect at our shows. Throw in the ethnic pride on this special weekend and it’s really a can’t miss card for Chicago.”

Also on the card is a six round junior middleweight bout between fan favorite Chicago based Polish prospect Andrzej Fonfara, 6-1 (2KO’s) and Luis Hodge, 5-4 (3KO’s) of the Dominican Republic, now fighting out of Sarasota, Florida.

In a lightweight six rounder, Leo Martinez, 10-9 (5KO’s) of Columbus, Ohio will face Jorge Lara, 4-4-1 (1KO) of the Bronx, New York.

Making his pro debut is 19 year old two time Chicago Golden Gloves champion Eric Estrada as he faces Selso Bosquez, 3-2 (2KO’s) of Salem, Oregon.

“PRIDE” is presented by Chicago’s 8 Count Productions and Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. along with TCF Bank, TECATE Beer and Aero Mexico. The SOLO BOXEO broadcast will be viewed in more than 42 US markets and 70 foreign countries.
