Two time world title challenger Orlando Salido of Ciudad Orbegon, Sonora, Mexico has been added to the SOLO BOXEO/PRIDE at Chicago’s Congress Theatre this Friday night, September 14th. Salido, 27-9 (18KO’s) will face veteran Marty Robbins in an eight round super featherweight bout..
“PRIDE” is presented by Chicago’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. along with TCF Bank, TECATE Beer and Aero Mexico. The SOLO BOXEO broadcast will be viewed in more than 42 US markets and 70 foreign countries.
Salido is coming off a twelve round battle with Robert Guerrero last November in Las Vegas. Three years ago Salido lost a hard fought decision to Juan Manuel Marquez for the featherweight world title. His ten year career includes wins over notables Rogers Mtagwa, Cesar Soto, Radford Beasley and Lamont Pearson.

The SOLO BOXEO/PRIDE event celebrates Mexican Independence Day and features terrific Mexican vs. Puerto Rican battles in both of the televised main and co main event bouts amongst its world class bouts.
In the main event, SOLO BOXEO staple Fernando Trejo, 29-12 (18KO’s) of Mexico City faces off against Juan Ramon Cruz, 15-3-1 (11KO’s) of San Juan, Puerto Rico in a ten round lightweight battle.
The co-main event features Chicago based fighters as Francisco Rodriguez, 9-1 (6KO’s) of Guadalajara, Mexico squares off against Puerto Rican Ivan Rodriguez, 8-3-1 (3KO’s) in an eight round super bantamweight bout for the Illinois State Title.
