Vazquez, from Puerto Rico, started off strong in the first round of the fight, mixing combinations to Orozco’s head and midsection effectively.
On several occasions, Vazquez, fighting out of an orthodox stance, tagged Orozco with some big right hands. However, Orozco, 22 took the shots well and responded with strong body shots, displaying a potent left hook in the process.
In the 2nd round, traded big hooks and fighting fiercely back and forth. Vazquez moved around the ring trying to pick spots in which to engage Orozco. Towards the end of the round, Vazquez nailed Orozco with a perfectly thrown left hook, hurting him causing him to stagger backwards. Vazquez quickly followed after him, trying to take him out with a flurry of hooks to the head. With Orzco now up against the ropes, Vazquez staggered him again with another left hook. However, before he could finish him off, the round ended. Orozco stumbled back to his corner, looking out on his feet.
In the 3rd round, Orozco led off with a couple of pawing jabs, trying helplessly to keep Vazquez at a distance. I didn’t work, however, as Vazquez quickly closed distance and opened up with several combination which sent Orozco in full retreat. Vazquez caught up with him and hurt him with a big right hook to the head, and then followed by four additional right hands that caused the referee to move in and stop the bout.
