Odlanier solis21.09.07 – Fast victories at arena’s “RISING STARS“ show in Lübeck’s Hansehalle. Only 3 of 14 fights went over the full distance. Cuba’s Olympic gold medallist Yuriorkis Gamboa once more had the fastest hands of the night. He knocked out strong Argentinean Nestor Hugo Paniagua (17-4-1, 14 KOs) after only 65 seconds.

Manager Ahmet Öner: “Paniagua is No. 31 in the WBC bantamweight rankings and Gamboa made him look like a school boy. Ant it was only his 5th pro-fight! His next fight will be against a guy of the Top 10. I think a World championship bout in his 10th fight is possible. You can’t go to the top faster that that!”

Heavyweight sensation Odlanier Solis didn’t take much time for his 4th victory in his 4th pro-fight either. The three-time World amateur boxing champion and Olympic gold medallist knocked out experienced US-boy Marcus McGee after 2:49 minutes in round 2.

Yuriorkis gamboaÖner: “Solis did it again. Once more he proofed that he is one in a million. Whenever he gets in the ring the only question is: When will he hit his opponent? When does his opponent go down? His fights remind me of the young Mike Tyson. It doesn’t matter who he gets in the ring with. He will beat everybody who comes along. With Solis a new era in heavyweight is beginning.”

Former World heavyweight champion Herbie Hide didn’t take much time to finish off his opponent Mircea Telecan. The “Dancing Destroyer” tko’d Romanian Telecan after only 1:16 minutes.

Germany’s heavyweight prospects also gained prompt victories. Konstantin Airich beat Kenia’s Raymond Ochiend after 55 seconds in round 2. And “Germany’s hope” Steffen Kretschmann knocked out his opponent Tolgat Dosanov from Kazachstan after 95 seconds in round 2 by a smashing body shot.

arena-CEO Ahmet Öner summed up the night, stating: “Most fights were pretty short tonight. That’s because my “RISING STARS” are so strong. We are still a young company but if we proceed our way like this we will be a strong power in the world of boxing soon.”

In the night’s only title bout international German champion Roman Aramian defended his belt against Alexander Sipos by unified decision after 10 rounds.
