3 GALLOS is headlined by the Chicago debut of former world champion Martin “EL GALLITO” Castillo, 32-2 (17KO’s) of Mexico City as he battles Columbian knockout artist, Jonathan “EL EXPLOSIVO” Perez, 13-2 (10KO’s) in the ten round super flyweight main event. Castillo has won two in a row since his battle with Nobuo Nashiro on July 22, 2006 in Japan which was abruptly stopped on cuts resulting in Castillo losing his world title.

Perez, a native of Barranquila, Columbia, has been involved in two outstanding battles this year against Alejandro Hernandez in Phoenix, Arizona and Eric Ortiz in Miami, Florida. He is coming off a knockout win over Rafael Salgado last month in Columbia.
The co-main event features the Chicago return of world ranked and undefeated junior flyweight Giovanni “THE AZTEC WARRIOR” Segura, 18-0 (14KO’s). The all action Segura, has scored two devastating knockouts in Chicago over Daniel Reyes and Jesus Martinez this year.
Segura, a native of Ciudad Altamirano, Mexico, now fighting out of Bell Gardens, California will battle Columbian veteran Wilfrido Valdez., 23-2 3 (16KO’s) in the scheduled ten rounder.
Segura is currently ranked #3 by Ring Magazine, #4 in the world by the WBC, #2 by the WBA, #3 by the IBF, and #3 by the WBO.
Also featured on the card is the first Chicago appearance of prospect Jorge “EL RATO” Paez, Jr., son of former world champion Jorge “EL MAROMERO” Paez Sr..
Paez Jr, 17-1 (10KO’s) of Mexicali, Mexico will battle Aaron Drake, 12-5 (9KO’s) of Kansas City in an eight round junior welterweight bout. The 19 year old Paez Jr. has won four in row, two by early knockout since suffering his first defeat earlier this year. This is the seventh fight of the year for the busy Paez Jr.
Jorge Paez Sr. thrilled a crowd of over 3,500 in his only area appearance in September 2003, a decision victory over Rodney Jones at Chicago’s DePaul Athletic Center.
