GARY, IN (July 3, 2008) On Friday July 4th, the current NABC Lightweight Champion Mary McGee will take some time out of her training to participate in the Fourth of July Parade in her native Gary, Indiana. The parade begins at 9 a.m. at 21st Avenue and Broadway in Gary, Indiana.. Fans are encouraged to line the streets early to have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the champ. The 21-year old Gary Roosevelt graduate is thrilled to be a part of Gary’s exciting Fourth of July festivities. She is always open to partaking in community events and is quite visible throughout Northwest Indiana. Despite being so young, Mary has learned how to juggle her many appearances with her intense training schedule.
The “First Lady of Gary Boxing” is focused and determined on continuing her ascension up the boxing ladder. Mary’s journey towards light welterweight supremacy continues on Saturday August 2nd as she collides with Tonya Gallegos (4-8, 2 KOs) during the main event of the “Steelyard Brawl” at the USS Steelyard home of the Gary Southshore Railcats. McGee knows she must put forth her best effort against Gallegos in order to retain her title. Electricity will be at all time high at the USS Steelyard on August 2nd when Mary McGee makes her entrance before what is sure to be an amazing crowd.
