Ornelas, McEwan on Telefutura this Friday

LOS ANGELES, July 3 – This Friday night, middleweight contender Enrique Ornelas (27-4, 17 KOs) is back in action and looking to finish off his Fourth of July with some fireworks of his own when he takes on upset-minded Daryl Salmon (15-2, 4 KOs) in a ten round bout that headlines TeleFutura’s ‘Solo Boxeo’ at the Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas..

In the co-main event, a middleweight bout scheduled for eight rounds features unbeaten Freddie Roach trained, Scottish sensation Craig McEwan (10-0, 6 KOs) as he puts his undefeated record on the line against tough Mexico City product Juan Sanchez (7-2, 3 KOs).

This night of high-impact professional boxing is presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Cavazos Boxing Promotions. The TeleFutura broadcast will begin at 8pm ET / PT and 7 PM CT.

Also scheduled to see action this Friday will be a wide array of boxing’s top young fighters, including some of Texas’s finest.

Brooklyn, New York will be represented in South Texas on July 4th, as rising middleweight star Daniel ‘The Golden Child’ Jacobs (6-0, 6 KOs) continues his torrid pace with his seventh fight since December. Jacobs will look to score his fifth first round KO in a scheduled four round bout against Mexico’s Julio Perez (5-8-1, 4 KOs).

In a junior welterweight four rounder, Houston’s Hylon Williams, a highly touted former amateur star, will look to improve on his 1-0 pro record against Alice, Texas’ Ruben Calderon who will be making his professional debut.

Exciting Harlingen heavyweight Eric Molina (6-1, 6 KOs), whose only loss came in his pro debut, plans on notching his seventh straight knockout victory and possibly his fourth first round win in a four round fight against Longview, Texas’ Douglas Robertson (2-15-2). Austin featherweight prospect Casey Ramos (5-0, 3 KOs) will attempt to stay unbeaten in a six round battle against Saul Gutierrez (5-10-1) of Saltillo, Mexico.

This explosive night of fisticuffs will open up with a four round clash between Texas junior lightweights Juan Lucio (1-0, 1 KO) of Pharr and Raul Almeida of Alice making his professional debut, as well as a six round junior bantamweight bout pitting Weslaco’s Juan Manuel Lopez (4-2, 3 KOs) against Veracruz, Mexico’s Gabriel Rangel (5-3-3).
