NEW YORK (Nov. 4, 2008) – World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight champion Celestino Caballero and undefeated International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion Steve “The Canadian Kid” Molitor will battle to unify the title on Friday, Nov. 21, from Casino Rama, in Ontario, Canada, live on ShoBox: The New Generation (SHOWTIME 11 p.m. ET/PT)..
The 12-round world title unification fight is the first ever in the eight-year history of ShoBox and the first to take place in Canada. Seminole Warriors Boxing will promote the historical scrap between two of the most talented 122-pounders in the world from the Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario.
“This is a historic unification fight,” said Gordon Hall, Executive Producer of ShoBox. ”We showcased Vazquez-Marquez on SHOWTIME, now both Caballero and Molitor want to make their statement and establish themselves as the best at 122-pounds. It will be a classic chess match between two very skilled boxers. This is boxing at its best.”
“Fights like these are what boxing needs right now,” said Caballero, winner of 11 straight. “The best fighting the best; I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
Caballero (30-2, 21 KOs), of Colon, Panama, and Molitor (28-0, 11 KOs), of Ontario, Canada, have each successfully defended their title five times, but this marks the first world unification attempt for either champion.
“This is the biggest fight of my career,” said Molitor, who will be fighting for the first time on American television. “I’ve been boxing for 20 years, and it’s by far the biggest. Having the fight in my home country makes it even better. It puts a little bit of pressure on my shoulders, but it’s going to make me train that much harder knowing the spotlight is going to be on me.”
Molitor is a stylish southpaw with amazing endurance. He will rely on a high work rate to keep the naturally bigger and taller Caballero off balance.
“We know a little bit more than he thinks we know about him,” said Molitor, who sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber that replicates the thin air of altitude. “We’ve watched him on tape and we’ve brought in excellent sparring. Training camp has been great and I feel very confident.”
Molitor, who has fought most of his fights in his native Canada, is often criticized for having a “soft” resume.“
On Nov. 21, everyone is going to get what they want,” Molitor said. “I’m fighting a legit champion in Celestino Caballero. He’s a world champion that can’t get fights because nobody wants to fight him. Well, guess what? I’m going to put everything I have on the line against the same guy that everybody is running scared from.”
Molitor’s last defense was a 10th- round TKO over Ceferino Labarda on Aug. 29, 2008.
Caballero has largely been avoided despite holding a title for two years. His range, knockout power and intimidating presence scare off most opponents.
“The Towering Inferno,” as Caballero is often called due to his near six-foot frame, does not mind going into Molitor’s backyard if it means adding a second title to his resume.
“When I won my WBA title [in 2006], I did it against Somsak [Singchachawan] in his home country of Thailand,” said Caballero, who is also a southpaw. “I wasn’t favored to win and the site was at some remote temple better accessible by helicopter than by the winding, narrow road that we took.
“No one gave me a chance to win and I ended up winning the belt by third-round TKO. Going to Canada for this fight isn’t a big deal. I’ve won big title fights in hostile territory before.”
Along with his triumph over Singchachawan, Caballero also holds a win against former WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce de Leon. His most recent defense was a first-round TKO over Elvis Mejia on Sept. 18, 2008.
Nick Charles will call the action from ringside with Steve Farhood serving as expert analyst. Hall is the executive producer of ShoBox with Richard Gaughan producing and Rick Phillips directing. ShoBox recently celebrated seven outstanding years on the air.

Cleveland, OH – November 4, 2008 – The St. Clarence Hall in North Olmsted, Ohio will be buzzing with excitement on Friday, November 21st, as Kincaid Godhard Promotions present live professional boxing. Not only is this the first professional boxing show to be held in the City of North Olmsted, it also marks the return of professional boxing to the Cleveland area in 2008
One of the feature fights of the evening pits heavyweight, knockout artist, Ryan “The Tank” Thompson (7-6, 6KO) from East Cleveland vs. Ryan St Germain (2-3, 2KO) from Indiana. Thompson, who is a member of the Cement Mason Local 404 Union, will be fighting for the first time in front of his hometown crowd.
Cleveland’s own Elicia “Mega” Battle (3-1, 3KO) who is ranked #4 in the world will fight 2-time toughwoman champion Tonya “The Red Neck Mama” Colvin (1-0, 1KO) from Pennsboro, WV. This lt. heavyweight women’s bout will be sure to shake up the rankings.
In addition, Johnstown, PA heavyweight sensation Andres “Taylor Made” Taylor (2-0-1) will take on Jason Pettaway (1-0, 1KO) from Huntington, WV. Pettaway has had a reported 160 amateur fights. Taylor, the 2006 Pennsylvania Golden Gloves State Champion, was ranked 3rd in the Nation by USA Boxing as an amateur. Taylor will have close to 100 “Taylor Made” fans in the audience making the 3 hour trek via 2 chartered buses from Johnstown, PA.
Other local pro fighters on the card include Jason Massey (Cleveland), Brian Cook (Nordonia), Rayshawn Myers (Cleveland), Jonathan Senquiz (Cleveland), and 2008 USA Olympic alternate Miguel Gonzalez (Cleveland).
Preliminary amateur bouts will start the evening off and include the boxing debut of NAAFS #1 MMA Amateur Stipe Miocic, DJ Jacobucci, Dan Jones, Derrick Moss, Brian Park, and Lorain’s Wilkins Santiago.
A limited number of tickets, priced at $45 VIP front row, $35 ringside table seats, and $25 general admission, remain on sale to the public. Tickets will be $5 more at the door, if available.

Nakash of Haifa, Israel has an undefeated record of 15-0 with eleven big knockouts and his become a favorite at The Legendary Blue Horizon. Nakash will be making seveth appearance at The Legendary Blue Horizon as he amassed six straight wins with the last three coming in the form of a vicious knockout.
In his last bout, Nakash scored his the most impressive win of his career when he took care of the highly regarded Larry Robinson in just fifty seconds on September 12th .
Jolly of Adrian, Michigan has a record of 8-9-1 with four knockouts has been in with some of the best Heavyweights & Cruiserweights and his beaten his share of undefeated fighters, so he won’t be an awe of the undefeated slugger from Israel.
Jolly has scored wins over three undefeated fighters and held the highly regarded (and undefeated at the time) Aaron Williams to a draw.
Jolly will have a six inch height advantage over Nakash. Jolly has been in the ring with notables such as Joey Abell, Zuri Lawrence, Alfredo Escalera Jr.and is coming off a Unanimous decision over William Bailey on September 25th.
In the co-feature, rising Jr. Welterweight Steve Upsher Chambers will look for his fifteenth consecutive victory when he takes on an opponent to be named.
Chambers, 23 has a record of 18-1-1 with five knockouts.
Undefeated Light heavyweight Ben Foust will make his Legendary Blue Horizon debut in a six round bout. Foust of Jacksboro, Tennessee has racked up a record of 11-0 with ten knockouts. Foust will fight an opponent to be named.
December 5th also marls The Legendary Blue Horizon return of Jules Blackwell. Blackwell, of Phoenixville, Pa has a record of 8-1-2 with three knockouts and he will be making his ninth appearance at The Legendary Blue Horizon.
Blackwell is coming off a first round knockout over Javier Dennis on September 26th at The Legendary Blue Horizon.
Blackwell will be taking on durable Dareell Martin of Baltiomore. Martin has a record of 3-6 and will be making his fourth appearance at The Legendary Blue Horizon. Martin will be looking to build on his unanimous decision victory over Andre Nichold this past October 18th in Springfield, Va.
John Goldwire of Philadelphia will try to improve on his winning debut at The Legendary Blue Horizon last April when he battles John Pawlowski (1-1-1, 1 KO) in a four round Welterweight bout.
The exciting style of Julius Edmonds of Philadelphia will look to even up his record (2-3) when he takes on Michael Weaver (2-2-1). Weaver of Philadelphis is the only man to defeat Steve Chambers.
In a battle of debuting Middleweights, John Turner of Philadelphia will take on Joey Aquaru.
Rounding out the card will be the return of Lightweight prospect, Luis Castro (3-0, 1 KO) in a four round fight. Castro won his first two fights at The Legendary Blue Horizon
