David Haye and Hayemaker Boxing will arrive in Liverpool on Monday, December 15 for a press conference to announce details of the blockbuster HAYEMAKER 6 show to be held on March 28, 2009 in Europe’s Capital of Culture. Promoter Adam Booth and Head of Boxing Dave Coldwell will join former world cruiserweight champion Haye at the Jury’s Inn Hotel (30 feet from the entrance to the Echo Arena) on Monday, with proceedings getting underway at around 11 AM..
Also present at the press conference will be Liverpool-based Hayemaker boxers Derry Mathews, Tony Dodson, John Watson and Joe McNally as well as two-time British light-middleweight champion Ryan Rhodes.
Full details of HAYEMAKER 6 will be announced at the press conference.
“It was always a logical move to come to Liverpool given the amount of Liverpool-based fighters we have in our stable,” explains Haye, an ex WBC, WBA and WBO world cruiserweight king and current heavyweight contender.
“The fight fans in Liverpool are some of the best in the country and they always come out and support their own. They love a good scrap in that neck of the woods and I’m sure the people of Liverpool can’t wait to support a selection of their own boxing on the same night.”
As well as expressing his delight at landing a show in Liverpool, heavyweight sensation Haye will also discuss his own future in the heavyweight division. ‘The Hayemaker’ will be on hand to analyse the weekend’s world title bout between Wladimir Klitschko and Hasim Rahman, as well as outline his plans for 2009.
“I’m certain 2009 will be the year I win the world heavyweight title and now it’s all about tracking down Wladimir Klitschko and snatching his belt,” says Haye, who will be ringside in Germany for Saturday’s bout between Klitschko and Rahman.
“If I have to take a fight before beating Klitschko then that’s what I’ll do. I’ll knock out whoever is put in front of me, and that includes both Klitschko brothers.”
Hayemaker Director Adam Booth is excited by the opportunity of bringing HAYEMAKER 6 to Liverpool and presenting his talented stable of fighters with the chance to strut their stuff in front of home support.

Massive Weekend For The Espinoza Boxing Club
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 10, 2008) The Espinoza Boxing Club closes out a terrific 2008 as boxing fans in Southern California have another opportunity to see four of their outstanding young undefeated prospects. In action on Thursday night at the Marriott Hotel in Irvine at Roy Englebrecht’s Battle in the Ballroom series will be lightweight Luis Ramos along with super featherweights Abraham Lopez and Ronny Rios. On Friday night, lightweight Carlos Molina will return to the ring at the Top Rank promoted SOLO BOXEO televised card from the Alameda Swap Meet in Los Angeles.
The 19 year old Ramos, 8-0 (5KO’s), will square off against San Antonio native, Justo Vallecillo, 5-7-0 (2KO’s), in a six round bout. The all action Ramos has been the talk of the Southern California boxing scene since making his pro debut in October of last year.
Former amateur standout Rios, 1-0 (1KO), turned professional in October with a crushing first round knockout of Fermin Perez at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario. Thursday night he will square off against Carlos Luque, 0-1, of Tucson, Arizona a scheduled four rounder.
Also in action on Thursday in Irvine, 21 year old Abraham Lopez, 4-0 (3KO’s), faces Moreno Valley’s Alvaro Muro, 6-11 (5KO’s), in a six round bout.

On Friday night, Commerce City’s Carlos Molina, 5-0 (2KO’s), will face Miami’s Genier Pit, 1-0-1 (1KO), in a six round bout at the Alameda Swap Meet.
The event is headlined by two outstanding bouts, flyweight Brian Viloria vs. Benji Garcia, and super featherweight Urbano Antillon vs. Juan Ramon Cruz, both ten rounders.

2008 Olympian Gary Russell, Jr. to Turn Professional
Amateur Standout to Make Pro Debut on January 17, 2009
(CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD.) – Decorated amateur and 2008 Olympian Gary Russell, Jr. (Capitol Heights, Md.) has turned professional, signing with respected boxing manager Al Haymon. Russell moves onto the professional ranks following a highly successful amateur career, which culminated with a berth on the 2008 United States Olympic Team.
The 20-year-old Russell has been involved in the sport of boxing since he was a young child and looks forward to making the next step in his career. “I am ready to take my skills and talent onto the professional ranks,” Russell said. “I have dreamt of becoming a world champion since I was young and I believe that Al and his team will help me to get to that point.”
Russell will make his professional debut on January 17 in the 126 pound weight division at a location to be determined. His father, Gary Russell, Sr., has served as his son’s trainer since he first tied on the gloves and will continue in that role as the younger Russell moves onto the pro side.
The Washington DC native has impressed boxing fans since he was six-years-old, showcasing his patented speed by shadowboxing during intermissions of boxing shows before he was old enough to compete. Known for his rare combination of blazing hand speed and thundering power, the southpaw is prepared for his transition to professional boxing. “I believe my style is perfectly suited to professional boxing,” Russell said. “I can’t wait to take off the headgear, put on smaller gloves and showcase all of my skills.”
Russell has won amateur titles at every level, and claimed both a U.S. Championships title and National Golden Gloves championship at only 16. Despite being the youngest member of the team, Russell went on to win a bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships at 17-years-old. He continued to defy the odds at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, joining boxing legends Evander Holyfield and Floyd Mayweather, Jr., in boxing out of the Challengers bracket, recording six straight victories to earn a spot on the Olympic Team.
The 20-year-old comes from a true boxing family with four younger brothers also boxing and his father training the entire brood. Russell, Sr., was a professional heavyweight and brought all of his sons into the sport as youngsters.
