ARENA Box-Promotion has won the purse bid for the WBC cruiserweight Final Eliminator between Herbie Hide and Matt Godfrey. The fight will most probably take place in late March or early April. The winner of the elimination bout will face the winner of the WBC cruiserweight championship between Giacobe Fragomeni and Krystzof Wlodarczyk. If he can beat Godfrey Hide would not only opening up the door for earning big money at the end of his long and successful career. The “Dancing Destroyer” could also make history becoming the first former world heavyweight champion to go down to cruiserweight to win a world title..
Fields Returns to the EQC for Battle at the Boat 70

(Tacoma, WA) Cruiserweight prospect Eric Fields (11-1, 9 KO’s) returns to the ring tonight at the Emerald Queen Casino’s Battle at the Boat Boxing Series in Tacoma, Washington. The first fight is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Fields ran off 11 straight wins including a devastating first round knockout of former IBF world champion, Kelvin Davis (24-7-2, 17 KO’S), that was seen nationally on ESPN January 2008, in Key West, Florida. These 11 wins were before losing to Ola Afalabi (11-1, 5 KO’s) at Battle of the Boat 67 for the NABA Cruiserweight title last year. Fields is returning to the ring for the first time since the loss.
“Eric is a genuine prospect,” said Field’s promoter Brian Halquist. “We feel that the Olafabi fight was a setback but it was only a temporary setback and boxing fans will see that tonight.” Team Fields has hired trainer Dicky Woods to handle his conditioning and training. “Eric has had two training camps with Dicky and has had incredible sparring work for this fight,” Halquist said. “We are very excited that Eric is back.” He added “I have always believed and still do that Eric has all the tools to be a world champion.”
Fields, from Ardmore, Oklahoma, will face Francisco Mireles (5-1, 1 KO) from Sonora, Mexico in a six round semi-main event.
Headlining tonight’s Battle at the Boat show is Chicago, Illinois native Carlos Molina ( 13-4 , 5 KO’s) who will face Jailer Berrio (11-4, 7 KO’s) from Quindio, Columbia. The six fight card is presented by the Emerald Queen Casino and Brian Halquist Productions.

PROFESSIONAL BOXING RETURNS TO REMINGTON PARK
catBOX Entertainment announces the return of professional boxing to Remington Park on Friday, February 13, 2009, for a “guys night out” the night before Valentine’s Day! Fights start at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Boxing warriors preparing to battle on February 13 include knockout artist and undefeated Oklahoma Lightweight Champion Noah Zuhdi (5-0, 5 KOs). Zuhdi was recently named by The Daily Oklahoman as Oklahoma’s boxing prospect of the year.
Undefeated George “Comanche Boy” Tahdooahnipah (15-0, 14 KOs), current Native American Boxing Council Super Middleweight Champion, will be fighting Dominique Azeeze.
Local favorite Kyle Sherman (10-1, 6 KOs) will fight in a scheduled eight round bout with the rugged boxer, Brad Hill, traveling from Arkansas to fight Sherman.
The renowned former OKC Blazer, heavyweight Ron Aubrey (3-2, 3 KOs), returns to Remington Park to fight June Brown. Rounding out the card will be Heavyweight Ty Cobb (2-0, 2 KOs) from Wichita Falls, Texas, who will be fighting in a four rounder and undefeated super featherweight Shadi Hamsho (9-0, 1 KO) from Los Angeles, California, also scheduled to fight in a four rounder.
