June 10, 2009 – All open issues have been resolved regarding the proposed Paulie Malignaggi and Juan Diaz fight on August 22, 2009 in Houston, Texas. DiBella Entertainment and Golden Boy wrapped up negotiations today and tied up all loose ends for the fight- including the agreed upon weight of 138.5 lbs. “I told Paulie to lay off his Grandma’s pasta and eat one less cannoli,” said Lou DiBella about Malignaggi dropping an extra pound or two. “Paulie is confident of his speed and boxing ability and is prepared to win in the lion’s den of Houston. “This is a fight between two guys looking to prove something. We are both coming of losses in big fights and we are both coming in hungry. Expect fireworks,” said Malignaggi..

BROTHERS CHUDINOV PREPARE TO TELL THEIR OWN STORY!

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 10, 2009) Russian amateur sensation Dmitry Chudinov will be ringside this Saturday night, June 13th, at the “Mecca of Boxing”, New York City’s Madison Square Garden, to watch his rival countryman Matt Korobov battle on the undercard of the Welterweight World Championship Bout between Miguel Cotto and challenger Joshua Clottey. Along with his brother, Fedor, also an outstanding amateur boxer, Dmitry will watch with interest as his Russian rival attempts to win his sixth pro bout. Both brothers, having recently signed to growing international promoter, TKO BOXING Promotions, are diligently training in Los Angeles as they prepare for their pro debuts in Reno, Nevada next month.

On May 9, 2007, the then 21 year old Chudinov and the number one ranked Korobov, four years his senior, engaged in an outstanding battle for the gold medal at the Russian National Championships. After four terrific rounds of world class action, Korobov was declared the winner in a very close bout.

Two years later, Dmitry begins a new chapter in his boxing career. Korobov has since moved to Florida and won his first five bouts under the Top Rank promotional banner.

Although focused on his pro debut, Dmitry clearly has revenge on his mind and looks forward to another opportunity to battle Korobov and escape his longtime rivals’ shadow.

Dmitry capped off an outstanding amateur career with a bronze medal at the 2008 World Cup Championships as part of the Russian National team. His amateur career finished at 159 wins and 16 losses.

Younger brother Fedor, 21 years old, will begin his professional career as a super middleweight. In 2008 he won the bronze medal at the Russian National Championships.
