Majewski vs. Lockett Aug. 8

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—Undefeated middleweight Patrick Majewski, of Somers Point, NJ, and Willis Lockett, of Takoma Park, MD, meet in a scheduled eight-round contest Saturday evening, Aug. 8, at Bally’s Atlantic City. First fight 7.30 p.m. Topping the seven-bout card is a scheduled 10-round contest for the North American Boxing Association (NABA) welterweight title between champion Mike Jones, of North Philadelphia, and Larry Mosley, of Los Angeles, CA. Majewski, 29, is originally from Radom, Poland. He has a pro record of 11-0, 7 K0s, including an impressive eight-round decision over previously unbeaten Latif Mundy, of Philadelphia, PA, in his last fight June 6 in the same ring..

Prior to beating Mundy, Majewski had scored a seventh-round knockout over James Lubash, of Pittsburgh, PA, on April 24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

Lockett brings a record of 12-8-5, 5 K0s. In his last fight he dropped an eight-round decision to former World Boxing Council middleweight champion Keith Holmes in Holmes’ Washington, DC, backyard.

After having weighed as much as 228 pounds for some fights, the 5-foot-9 Lockett now wants to campaign as a middleweight or super middleweight. He weighed 163 pounds against Holmes.

Lockett held unbeaten light-heavyweight Chuck Mussachio, of Wildwood, NJ, to a draw last year in Hockessin, DE, and he K0d former world-title challenger Larry Marks, of Wilmington, DE, earlier this year at Dover (DE) Downs. He has been stopped just once in 25 fights.

A pair of six-round fights feature junior welterweights Ronald Cruz, of Bethlehem, PA, against Julias Edmonds, of Philadelphia, PA, and junior middleweights Manuel Guzman, of Lancaster, PA, against Jamaal Davis, of Philadelphia, PA.
Three four-round bouts complete the card.
