The all action Nguyen, a native of Bien Hoa, Vietnam , currently living in Vero Beach, California , is trained by former world champion Buddy McGirt. The Pala Casino bout will be his first in Southern California over the course of his five year professional career.
In his most recent bout, Nguyen ran his current winning streak to four with a terrific eight round unanimous decision win over Carlos Hernandez on May 28th at the Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas , a win which raised his record to 15-1-0 (6KO’s). He was led to the ring by the “Mua Lan”, a traditional Vietnamese lion dance designed to exorcise evil spirits.
