News: Paulie Ayala; Robert Guerrero; Brawl at the Hall

Former two-time world boxing champion Paulie Ayala of Fort Worth will realize a dream on October 10 when he promotes his first boxing event at LaGrave Field. Paulie Ayala Productions will promote a scheduled six – bout card featuring mostly Texas fighters and plans to do so on a regular basis. “I retired in 2004, but have always stayed close to the sport and have always wanted to do this. I’m real excited about it,” said Ayala, now 39. “I’d like to give Texas boxers the same opportunity that was given to me, to reach their goals..”

Texas Featherweight Champion Casey Ramos, 9-0 (4 KO’s), of Austin will headline the card. Ramos has also signed a promotional contract with Ayala’s own Paulie Ayala Productions.

Chapp Huggins, 6-0 (1 KO) of Fort Worth will also be on the card.

Their opponents and the rest of the card will be announced shortly.

Tickets can be purchased at LaGrave Field, home of the Fort Worth Cats Baseball Club, and Paulie Ayala’s University of Hard Knocks Gym located at 3817 S.W. Blvd.

Tickets are: $75 VIP (first two rows) $50 Ringside, $35 Reserved, and $12 General Admission.

After a storied amateur career, Ayala turned pro and eventually won the World Boxing Association Bantamweight (118 lbs.) championship by defeating champion Johnny Tapia. He later beat Clarence Adams for the IBO Super Bantamweight (122 lbs.) title.

He fought wars with future Hall of Fame fighters Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales and was a regular on premium cable networks HBO and Showtime.

Ayala compiled a record of 35-3 (12 KO’s) and was named Fighter of the Year by Ring Magazine in 1999 after defeating Tapia the first time.

Robert The Ghost Guerrero to attend Fight Night at the Tank

(San Jose Ca, September 10, 2009) – 3-time world champion, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero will attend this Saturday’s “Fight Night at the Tank” taking place at the HP Pavilion at San Jose. Guerrero will sign autographs for those in attendance.

Featured in the evening’s main event will be Kelsey Jeffries (41-9-1, 4 KO’s) of Gilroy, Calif. who will be taking on Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton (4-1-1, 4 KO’s) of Daly City, Calif. for the vacant IBA Super Bantamweight World’s Championship. The bout is scheduled for 10 Rounds.

Cleveland, OH – September 10, 2009 – Cleveland’s top pro prospects to fight at “BRAWL AT THE HALL”, on Saturday, September 26th at the St. Clarence Hall. 8+ great bouts, featuring Cleveland’s finest young professional boxing prospects, are scheduled. ”BRAWL AT THE HALL” is presented by Kincaid Godhard Promotions, in association with the West Side Boxing Club and http://www.ProBoxingOhio.com.

Sensational prospects Jason “BIG DADDY” Massie, Wilkins “THE FIGHTING PRIDE OF LORAIN” Santiago, and Jake “THE BULL” Giuriceo are all set to go to war at “BRAWL AT THE HALL”.

“Boxing fans are always looking for the next superstars of the sport and I believe Massie, Santiago, and Giuriceo have all the qualities needed to become champions. The fans in Cleveland are getting a unique opportunity, to watch these fighters, as they continue their young careers,” said Kincaid.

Fighting out of Cleveland, the heavy handed Massie, 2-0 (1KO), looks to extend his undefeated record. He’s coming off a brutal second round TKO of Richard Greene, at the St. Clarence Hall. Tipping the scales at 6’3, 275 pounds, the enormous Massie, will once again, look to use his size and brute strength when he takes on Jeramiaah Bonner from Cleveland.

Santiago, who hails from Lorain, OH, will be making his highly anticipated, professional boxing debut. In his last amateur fight, at the St. Clarence Hall, on May 9th, he defeated nationally ranked Ken Porter II, brother of undefeated professional Shawn Porter, in an exciting, all action fight. He retires from amateur competition with an outstanding record of 72-9. Santiago will face a difficult test in his debut, as he takes on 5 fight veteran Torrence King from Columbus, OH.

The 24 year old Giuriceo, a native of Youngstown, OH, will look to add another win to his perfect 3-0 (2KO) record. Giuriceo is coming off a crunching second round TKO over Lucas Rodas in his hometown of Youngstown, OH on June 27th. He takes on an opponent TBD.

Also, on the card will be a rematch between heavyweights Justin Riegle of Carrollton, OH and Rocky Mullooly of Erie, PA. Mullooly ruled the first 3 rounds, of the first meeting between the two, but Riegle rallied late and won with a TKO in the fourth and final round.

In a bout that’s being billed as Boxing vs. MMA, Bowerston’s Randy Campbell, will face Marcus Ajian from Sandusky, OH. Ajian is an accomplished mixed martial arts fighter who has 14 professional fights

An exciting undercard featuring other top regional talent is scheduled, including middleweight Matt Keglovic, heavyweight Brian Cook, and middleweight Shane Gierke.
