Page 3 Stunners Prepare For Big London Fight Night – Judgement Day – 30th Sept 09
The excitement is really building for the highly anticipated White Collar Boxing event – Judgement Day – which will be held at the prestigious Cable Club in South London on the 30th September.
The interest in the unique Judgement Day event, which will be the first White Collar Boxing event to also feature a Mixed Martial Arts exhibition fight as well as an all female bout on the card, has been nothing short of phenomenal. Not only has the event attracted top White Collar Boxers from around the globe but has also created another highly interesting competition – for Ring Card Girl honours!
The organisers of Judgement Day, Rooney’s Boxing Gym, were more than a little (pleasantly) surprised when they received many requests from beautiful young women eager to be a Ring Card Girl on the night. Following many long hours of debating, after perusing the candidates portfolios, the organising committee finally selected rock singer and former model Francesca Santamaria and Page 3 regular Penelope Ashton.
Rooney’s Boxing Gym’s publicist, Gianluca (Rio) Di Caro, spoke briefly about this unexpected development. “It’s awesome to think that we had so many stunningly beautiful women wanting to be the Ring Card Girls for our Judgement Day event at the Cable Club on the 30th September. This only goes to prove that Judgement Day is THE White Collar Boxing event to be seen at.
It was really hard for us deciding between so many lovely young women, but at the end of the day Francesca and Penelope are both just so beautiful and vivacious we couldn’t help but chose them.
Francesca was actually the first girl to approach us, literally the day we announced the event. She’s a gym regular. Don’t get me wrong that isn’t why we chose her. I mean, look at the photos she’s gorgeous! Another bonus is that she and Penelope get on so well with each other.
What a result, everyone’s eyes will be on the ring from the moment the action starts right to the end of the last fight with these two parading between rounds.
We think it’s great that not only will this incredibly exciting event set the standard that all future White Collar Boxing events will be judged by, but also it seems will be setting the another new standard by having such exceptionally beautiful Ring Card Girls.”
On learning that they had been chosen, Francesca, a classically trained opera singer and former model who has appeared in Playboy, Maxim and Loaded before returning to music fronting indie rock band Spiderbaby, and Page 3 model and boxing fan Penelope dropped into Rooney’s Boxing Gym and undertook an impromptu photo session with gym regular Erick ‘The Eagle’ Ochieng, who recently won his professional debut fight, as there were not any of the competing White Collar Boxers present.
The Judgement Day White Collar Boxing event comprises of 8 White Collar Boxing bouts, featuring boxers from England, Australia, Brazil and Israel, as well as a K1 Mixed Martial Arts exhibition bout and an all female exhibition boxing bout.
There will be an after show party, again at the Cable Club, following the final bout.
Judgement Day will be held at the Cable Club, Bermondsey Street Tunnel, London SE1 3JW on Wednesday 30th September 2009. Doors open at 7.00pm.
Ticket are priced £30.00 (unreserved) and £50.00 (V.I.P.) and are available from Rooney’s Boxing Gym, 895/896 Holyrood Street, London SE1 2EL or call 020 7403 6113
