SCOTS SPORTING TITLES ANNOUNCE TITLE FIGHT DEAL

TWO of the most famous business names in Scottish sport have today joined forces in a groundbreaking broadcast partnership.

The St Andrew’s Sporting Club and 110sport Group have reached agreement for 110sport.tv to broadcast the forthcoming Commonwealth Lightweight title fight between holder Lee McAllister and Charlie King in Aberdeen on Saturday, 17 October.

110sport.tv will broadcast the fight and the undercard online, a deal which St Andrew’s owner Tommy Gilmour says can only be good news for Scottish boxing.

“This is a partnership between two renowned Scots brands whose reach goes way beyond Scotland. I am delighted we have come to an agreement for this fight to be streamed live and exclusively by 110sport.tv,” said Gilmour.

“Our association stretches back to the days when my grandfather managed and promoted the father of 110’s President, Ian Doyle.”

“We are always looking for ways to take boxing to a wider audience – and this agreement gives us access to a massive market and a potential global audience.

“This was always going to be a special fight for Scotland. But it could now be a special fight for the future of Scottish boxing.”

For 110sport Group, Chief Executive Dave MacKinnon said; “Sport today is all about innovation and we are delighted that Tommy Gilmour has been willing to join us in this venture. This is an exciting opportunity for all concerned and one that could revolutionise boxing.

“The chance to be involved with this fight, with Aberdeen’s Lee McAllister taking on Charlie King from Motherwell – billed by many as ‘Granite versus Steel’ – was too good an opportunity to miss.

“And I am sure fight fans the length and breadth of the country won’t want to miss this fight night either – which will cost just £3.99 to watch live and exclusively on 110sport.tv.”
