Also appearing will be fan favorite Greg “ The Steel Pole” Kielsa, (10-0, 5 KO’s) the reigning Canadian Heavyweight Champion, making his debut under new Trainer, Egerton Marcus. DO OR DIE: TELESCO VS. MITCHELL IN CROSSROADS BATTLE

On October 21 Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing returns to the Hilton Rye Town Hotel in Rye Brook, NY, to present its second installment of Rumble at the Rye Town Hilton. Headlining the card once again will be heavy-handed, former world title challenger, David Telesco (30-6-1, 26KO) taking on fellow banger and former two-time world champion, Byron Mitchell (27-5-1, 20KO). The bout is scheduled for eight rounds in the light heavyweight division.

“This is an intriguing fight between two former contenders and champions who have always been known to produce very entertaining and exciting fights,” stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. “With both David and Byron, you know exactly what you are going to get. You have two guys who will be stepping in that ring with one purpose in mind, and that’s to knock the other guy out. David is coming off a very impressive victory in his last fight, and Byron’s KO victories are well-known throughout the industry. We are expecting a great showing from both combatants, and an all around great show you won’t want to miss on October 21st.”
DAVID TELESCO WITH JOE DEGUARDIA

The Pride of Port Chester, Telesco, returned from nearly a four and a half year layoff this summer to blow out the extremely durable William Gill in the second round of their eight round light heavyweight contest. Telesco, who in his heyday fought many of the top contenders and champions in his division, including going the distance against Roy Jones Jr. in a fight that was for the undisputed light heavyweight championship, looked very sharp against Gill. In the second a huge combination from Telesco dropped Gill hard. Sensing his opponent was hurt, Telesco wasted no time jumping all over Gill, battering him from ring post to ring post, before he finally was able to trap Gill in the corner. Telesco began unloading monstrous shots and another huge combination had Gill completely out on his feet. Luckily for Gill the referee jumped in, saving him from any further punishment. The official time of stoppage was 2:13 of the second round.

Mitchell, who hails from Atlanta, GA, like Telesco, is also on the comeback. The hard-hitting Mitchell twice held the WBA super middleweight belt, and is also the first person to ever knockdown Joe Calzache, when they fought back in June of 2003.

As DeGuardia touched on both guys like to bang and mix it up, which always makes for exciting fights. Of Telesco and Mitchell’s 57 combined victories, 46 of them have come by way of knockout (81%).

This is a very important fight in both of the careers of Telesco and Mitchell with the winner taking a major step in pointing their career back in the right direction, while the loser may never get another opportunity like this again.

A complete list of the undercard will be announced shortly. Tickets are priced at Gold Ringside ($100), Silver Ringside ($60) and reserved seating ($40).
