Atlantic City, NJ – With the stakes higher than ever, “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis will face another tough challenge when he meets Baltimore, MD’s Tim “The Pitbull” Coleman in a 12 round contest for the vacant USBA junior welterweight title. Joe Deguardia’s Star Boxing will promote the event in the classy Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center in New York City, NY. Arnaoutis, 22-3-2 (10 KO), of Atlantic City, NJ by way of Sparta, Greece has faced the very elite of the division including champs Juan Urango, Kendall Holt and Ricardo Torres. The heavy-handed southpaw slickster is back with trainer Ray McCline and says that he feels rejuvenated and ready to go..

The 16-1-1 (4 KO) Coleman’s experience comes from 180 amateur bouts and numerous tours in training camp with the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Ricky Hatton and Zab Judah. He has been training for two months in Manchester, England with trainer Lee Beard after a bout with Marvin Cordova fell through. Though he has never fought in a 12 round fight, he is determined to show the world what he’s made of.

PREMIERE EVENT TO FEATURE ARNAOUTIS VS. COLEMAN FOR USBA TITLE AS WELL AS THE RETURN OF KID CHOCOLATE

Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing announces a promotional alliance with Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club-NYC to produce a new series of star-studded boxing events. There will be a press conference held this Wednesday at New York’s celebrity favorite, Il Postino Ristorante to officially announce the joint venture and the company’s first upcoming event.

The first event, to be held on December 3rd at the Manhattan Center, will feature a USBA light welterweight title championship between Star Boxing’s “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (22-3-2, 10KO) and Tim “Pit Bull” Coleman (16-1-1, 4KO). Also on the card are Brooklyn’s sensational knockout artist Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillen (20-0, 15KO) and Star Boxing’s undefeated light welterweight prospect “The New” Ray Robinson (11-0, 4KO).

The series is a collaborative effort between leading boxing promoter Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing and Steve Karel, the director of marketing at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club New York. Karel, who also operates Stonecutter Event Promotions, Inc. is a longstanding television industry veteran who also does pay-per-view placement and event marketing.

This VIP evening of boxing and entertainment, hosted by world renown boxing trainer, and HBO commentator Emanuel Steward, will feature gourmet dinner and cocktails in addition to top boxing. Larry Flynt’s Hustler Honeys will serve as ring card girls, hostesses at all VIP dinner tables and will be entertaining late into the evening at the official after-party to be held at the Hustler Club 641 W. 51st street in Manhattan.

MORENO SUFFERS SECOND LOSS

“I couldn’t get my punches off”

November 2, 2009 – Carina “La Reina” Moreno (21-2, 6 KO’s) suffered her second professional lost when she relinquished her WBC minimumweight belt to Anabel Ortiz (11-1) this past weekend in Toluco, MX. The fight went the full 10 rounds and scorecards read 96-94 twice and 97-93.

“I couldn’t get my punches off,” said Moreno. “I felt a bit lethargic after the first few rounds. I take nothing away from Ortiz, she’s a great fighter. I’ve been promised an immediate rematch from promoter Ignacio Huizar. I’m hoping we can fight again sometime in December.”

Trainer Rick Nobel went on to say, “It’s very tough to fight in this elevation. I take full responsibility for this loss as I know I over-trained Carina. Ortiz was ready to go and we take nothing away from her. We’re looking for a rematch, preferably in the U.S.

A rematch between Moreno and Ortiz could happen as early as December. KO Entertainment promoter, Ignacio Huizar made this fight happen and it looks like he’s interested in putting on the rematch sometime in the near future. Special Edition of Friday Night Fights to Kick off ESPN’s Week-Long Salute to Veteran’s Day

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, a special edition of Friday Night Fights will be aired from Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, N.C. The program, set for ESPN2 at 8 p.m., will usher in ESPN’s weeklong “America’s Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans,” a weeklong initiative honoring the veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Brian Kenny and Teddy Atlas will call the action for ESPN2 ringside.

The undercard includes exhibition matches featuring members of the United States Marine Corps boxing team. Each Marine bout will determine the No. 1-ranked Marine in his respective weight division.

The night will culminate with three professional matches. The main event, set for 10 rounds, will be a junior lightweight battle between hometown fighter Johnnie Edwards (15-4-1, 8 KOs) of Jacksonville, and Jason Litzau (25-2, 21 KOs) of St. Paul, Minn.

ESPN’s salute to Veterans Day includes several other events to be aired throughout the week. On Sunday, Nov. 8, Sunday NFL Countdown will air the first television interview with Marie Tillman, widow of former NFL player Pat Tillman who was killed in Afghanistan. Ms. Tillman will also appear live on Monday Night Countdown from Denver before the Steelers-Broncos Monday Night Football game Nov. 9. Additional events are planned throughout the week.
