Dominick Guinn vs Charles Davis: Dominick Guinn (32-6-1, 21 KOs) won a workman like decision over no hope journeyman, Charles Davis (19-18-2, 4 KOs). Guinn came out strong throwing punches and being active, but by the later rounds went into a lull only throwing his jab and controlling the pace. Davis didn’t do anything to try and beat Guinn, as he was just there to earn a payday. Scores were 58-56×2, 60-54..
Omar Figueroa vs. Anthony Woods:
In what was an action packed fight, Anthony Woods (6-13, 3 KOs) and Omar Figueroa (8-0, 8 KOs) came out swinging. Woods was getting the better of the action for the first quarter of the round, but Figueroa exploded with a flurry, landing the all punches. After the flurry it was all Figueroa, who hurt Woods with a good body shot at the end of round one. In round two, the action continued with Figueroa dominating. The ref, Celestino Ruiz, stopped the contest at 1:46 in round two.

Ronald Hearns (23-1, 18 KOs) was successful in coming back after losing to Harry Joe Yorgey with a KO win over Shadrack Kipruto (10-12, 7 KOs). Hearns looked just like his father with a dominant jab that backed up Kipruto all night. In round two, Hearns was able to connect with right hands that sent Kipruto reeling back and eventually down at the end of the round. In the next rounds, Hearns was coasting, but still landing his signature punches. Jermell Charlo vs Abdon Lozano:
Undefeated Jermell Charlo (9-0, 5 KOs) impressed as he landed a monsterous left hook in round two against formerly undefeated, Abdon Lozano (6-1, 1 KO). Charlo constantly landed the counter left hook throughout and put Lozano down in round one also. The first knockdown was more of a flash knockdown, but the second one was certainly not. Lozano’s head blasted on the canvas. There was no chance of him getting up. Time was 2:11.
Randall Bailey vs Germaine Sanders:
Randall Bailey won a unanimous decision over Germaine Sanders with scores of 78-71, 79-90, and 77-72. Bailey put Sanders down three times throughout the fight. Hylon Williams vs. Humberto Tapia;
Hylon Williams (12-0, 3 KOs) showed that he is a fighter to keep your eye on Saturday night when he dazzled the crowd over Humberto Tapia (14-12-1, 7 KOs). Granted Tapia’s record wasn’t that great, Tapia still provided Williams with a test that Williams passed with flying colors. The fight was great as both fighters stood toe to toe in an all out action brawl. Williams showed great defense in the early rounds picking off and blocking the punches. What was most impressive about Hylon Williams was his handspeed. Reminiscent of a young Roy Jones Jr. or Shane Mosley in terms of handspeed, Williams used that to his advantage and landed constantly on Tapia. Williams got tired in the later rounds as Tapia still was working strong and started landing body shots. Williams would be a lot better if he provided lateral movement, but he put on a hell of a showing tonight. Scores were strangely all 82-72, but Williams clearly won the fight. Eastsideboxing had it 78-74
Jimmy Herrera vs Gustavo Palacios:
Making his professional debut by stopping Gustavo Palacios in a mere 28 seconds, Jimmy Herrera impressed the Chicago crowd. Herrera landed a typhoon of punches that floored Palacios.
Argenis Mendez vs Morris Chule:
Argenis Mendez (15-1, 9 KOs) won a unanimous decision by the scores of 78-74, 80-72×2 over Morris Chule (7-8-1, 7 KOs). The fight was mostly controlled by Mendez as he landed combinations throughout the fight. His money punch was the right hand followed by the left hook, which constantly landed.
Erislandy Lara vs Luciano Perez:
Cuban Jr. Middleweight prospect Erislandy Lara won a unanimous decision over tough Luciano Perez. Lara showed great technical skill as he landed text book type punches. Lara had success with the right jab, right hook, and left straight. Perez endured through the punishment and kept coming forward trying to land body shots. Lara’s defense was good as he withstood the shots and blocked them with his elbows and gloves. Lara did well in countering after Perez would throw. Lara improved to 9-0, 5 KOs, as Perez added another loss to become 17-10-1, 15 KOs. Scores were 100-90 twice and 99-91.
